Baby Elephant

A cute little baby card I made with a new stamp, just for fun:)

The background was done with my Letterpress. (Just for the record, I'm not really very fond of the Letterpress, and don't want anyone rushing out to buy it because of something they've seen on my blog! It's kind of fun to play with once in a while, since I got it for free, but not something that I would buy after having tried it out.) The elephant stamp is from an Inkadinkado set. I paper pieced her with a patterned paper from Recollections, and matted with the same paper. I added a little coloring with Copic markers and mounted on foam squares. Not sure if I'll add a sentiment on the front, or if I'll just stamp something on the inside.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Really cute image and card! Good information about the Letterpress - that's why I sold mine. :)

I do like how that background came out. It seems like the Letterpress is not very popular - I hardly see it used anywhere.

I know you are not fond of the letterpress. I have some sets of plates and inks and use them with my BigShot with the standard platform that comes with it. At times it has driven me around the bend until I bought the Holiday printing plates (the set with the damask background, the christmas baubles and the reindeer). These images seem to ink up better and the plates stay flat and the whole image transfers very nicely. I think the dimensions or the actual area of the raised portions of the design influence how well they work, that is more solid the design the better the letterpressed image. I have had no dud images with the two runs of cards i have done with these plates where as the Posy (lolly pop flowers) and the flourishes plates (not sure if this is the correct name - very fine swirls etc.) don't work too well at all for me. Hope this helps. Your letterpressing looks good on your cards though!
