Turquoise and Black Birthday

Another card using my new Martha Stewart border punch.

I started by punching the horizontal border.  Then I matted it on black.  Then I used the scrap pieces to put under the black to make the turquoise mat.  I used a Fiskars punch to do the vertical border.  The black paper with turquoise dots started out with white dots:)  I had a highlighter marker out for other purposes, and happened to notice it matched my turquoise cardstock exactly!  The flower started out white, also.  I added a little black gem to it.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.  (I noticed that the very same stamp is in two of their sets - Birthday Basics and Year-Round Puns.)  Just an easy card.  It's also the last one that I have to blog about.  Hopefully I can get something done today for tomorrow!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

I really like this card... I love turquoise and black... but I love black with most any bright color and love using it on my cards. You are changing my mind about that particular MS deep edge punch... I didn't think I cared much for it when it first came out... I used my coupons to buy all the other new ones that my Michaels carried at the time, but I skipped that one. I saw it at the store yesterday and even though I had a 50% off coupon in my hand I still didn't buy it, but now that I see your card... well... maybe next time! LOL!

I marvel at how you can always come up with something new and different for your CAS cards! What a brilliant way to use your punch. Love how you changed the polka dots to turquoise, too.
