Purple and Green Thinking of You

A new card today. I haven't spent much time in my stamping room lately, but I do have this one to share. I used one of my new Altenew stamps. It's the dotted Swiss background. Not really sure why I got it, as I have lots of dotted paper, but I did. :) I stamped this background in green. (I also did a couple other backgrounds, but I haven't made them into cards yet. Into the "card parts" they go. They are both on black cardstock. One is embossed with white dots and the other is embossed with glittery embossing powder.) The background for the sentiment is from PSX. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! The butterfly is a punch from EK Success. I added a couple gems to the butterfly's body and three to the sentiment panel, and I added some Star Dust Stickles to the butterfly.

Color Swap - Red and Gold

Another card using a layout from last week. I made this card for the monthly color swap in my stamping group - red and gold. The sentiment is from Scrapbook.com and is embossed with gold embossing powder. The gold panels are foil and are embossed with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. The red panels were embossed with a Darice folder.

Die-Cut best wishes

NBUS
I bought a few items from Altenew from a local paper store, and I'm finally starting to use them. This die is one of them. I cut it from white. Then I used a yellow-orange piece of cardstock to put behind it. I decided to add two colors of darker orange to it with a brush - in two corners and across the middle. Hard to tell in the picture, but it's really there! :) I matted with black. The sentiment is from a new Altenew set. I also added "pearls" with a Viva Perler Pen to the three rows that look like flowers - the top, middle and bottom rows.

I'm linking this up to the NBUS challenge, found here.

Christmas Background Stamp

I was given this background stamp (from Stampendous) from a friend, so I wanted to use it. I made five cards using it. One using these colors, three of the second one, and one of the third.

For this first one, I used a multi-color ink pad (light blue, dark blue and silver) and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I matted with dark blue. The sentiment is die-cut and layered. The top layer is silver glitter cardstock.
I stamped this one with Versamark and embossed again with clear embossing powder. I matted with a dark red. The top layer of the sentiment was cut from gold glitter cardstock.

I embossed this one with white embossing powder. I didn't mat it, and I used all white layers.

Christmas Trees

And one more Christmas card!! I just can't stop making them. (Although I think I may be done for a while, and start using some new stamps.) I stamped the image with olive green on olive cardstock, then shifted it just slightly and inked again using white pigment ink. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I mounted it on foam squares. I embossed the bottom piece with a Sizzix folder and added a thin strip of gold foil. This makes 54 cards done for this year.

Heat Embossing with a Stencil

I made this card for the CAS Mix-Up challenge - using stencils and heat embossing. My stencil is a NBUS from Penny Black. The sentiment is also NBUS from Altenew.
I first used the stencil with Versamark and turquoise embossing powder. Then I rotated the stencil and used a brush and ink for the purple. I die-cut the panel and used white ribbon colored with a Copic marker.

Christmas Snowmen

While going through a shelf in my stamping room, I came across the measurements from a card that I did MANY years ago. I had gotten the layout from another blog, but used my own measurements. I used Gina K patterned paper. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and is embossed with black embossing powder. I'll have another card with this layout soon.

EDITED TO ADD: The measurements that I used are: horizontal pieces - 3 7/8" x 1 1/4", vertical pieces - 2 5/8" x 1 1/4", center piece (matting for it) 2 5/8" x 1 3/8", black mat - 5 3/8" x 4 1/8". That's what I started with, but I think I had to do a little tweaking here and there to make it come out just right, especially for the center piece.

Masculine Birthday

Using up more card parts. I had the frame die-cut in my card parts. It was cut from brown textured cardstock. I chose three patterns of paper from a Paper Studio stack to place behind the openings. I die-cut the sentiment five times and layered them, with a matching brown layer on top. The card base is ivory. I thought this would work well for a guy.

Stenciled Hello

I made the background for this card with a stencil. The patterned paper on the edges is from The Paper Company. I cut the sentiment from bronze-ish glitter cardstock. It is four layers thick - three white layers under the glitter layer. I also added thin glitter cardstock strips to the edges of the stenciled piece.

Christmas Stickers

First of all - Happy Valentine's Day.

That said, how about some Christmas cards! Here are the last of my stickers - for a while. For this first one, I embossed the background with a Darice folder. All of the stickers on these cards are from the same set.
These last four cards are all basically the same. The patterned paper is from Gina K. I used Spellbinders dies (mostly) to emboss the frame around each sticker. I also added a thin strip of purple on each on.

Three-some Stickers

More stickers for today, and even more for tomorrow. Then I'll be done with them for a while. Actually, these are rub-ons. All of the rub-ons in today's post are from the same package. And all sentiments are from the same stamp set from scrapbook.com. I used one of my very favorite embossing folders on it - by Darice. The squares were cut with a die from Papertrey Ink. I mounted the embossed panel on foam squares.

More Stickers

I used up two more stickers on this card. These ones are quite layered. I used another card part, too. The die-cut circles piece has been around for a long time. I stamped a snowflake in the center hole and embossed with silver embossing powder. The dotted green background is actually packaging from the stickers. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and is also embossed with silver. The entire panel is mounted on foam squares.

Dragon Stickers

Today's cards use up some stickers. Both of them also use three-circle die cuts from my card parts. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I added thin strips of patterned paper above and below the die-cut panel.

On this one, I added black cardstock behind the circles and adhered the stickers to that. I popped the panel up with foam squares. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Lacy Frame

This lacy frame was sent to me by a friend many years ago. It finally made it on to a card. It was embossed with white and sparkly embossing folder and cut out. I cut out the center. I used a stamp from Repeat Impressions for the image. I stamped it on watercolor paper and embossed with black embossing powder. I watercolored it. I mounted the frame on foam squares. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The patterned paper on the card base is ancient from Stampin' Up!

Simply "Lacy" Birthday

While making the retirement card from a few days ago, I was checking out all of my Repeat Impressions stamps. They include this lacy stamp, but I don't think I've ever used it, so here it is! I stamped it across the panel, colored with a Copic marker and added some Wink of Stella. I scored lines above and below with my Scor-Pal. I matted with matching purple cardstock and added it to the cardbase.

Simple Thinking of You

The card part on this card is the main image panel. I don't know who makes the stamp, but I would guess Penny Black, if I had to guess. I had colored it with markers before stamping. I trimmed down the sides and added patterned paper. The sentiment is from Scrapbook.com and is embossed with green embossing powder. It's mounted on foam squares.

Turquoise Birthday

This card used up three card parts. I had this thin strip of patterned paper on my table and, since I really liked it, I didn't want to just throw it out. I also used a previously-embossed image panel. I took an ink pad and lightly rubbed over the embossing, making sure to get streaks on it, also. The sentiment had been printed from my computer. I had printed it with a black background, and then used my laminator and foil to make it turquoise. (It was in with my card parts.) Sorry you can't see the sentiment strip better.

Glittering Butterflies

The part I started with on this card is the die-cut butterfly background. I added glitter cardstock behind each row of butterflies. I scored lines in the open area with my Scor-Pal. I stamped the sentiment (from Scrapbook.com) and embossed it with gold embossing powder.

Flower Wheel

The part I started with on this card is the green with the border. I had only punched a border on one side, but I added a matching border on the other side - with a Fiskars border punch. I actually dug out a stamping wheel for this one! It's from Stampin' Up! I scored lines on each side of the flower design and colored the images with Copic markers. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. Such a classic layout.

Open Frame Cards

I'm on a "use up some card parts" kick lately. I was putting away some newly-made card parts, and came across the lovely ones that I already had. You'll be seeing a few over the next few days. These two cards started with the die-cut frames. This one also uses a die-cut heart that was already made. I added the heart over the frame and stamped the sentiment - from Avery Elle. I mounted the panel on foam squares and added three dots of Nuvo Drops.
On this one, I used some flowers and leaves that I had just stamped with a new-to-me Altenew stamp set. I think it is my first Altenew set. :) I had stamped them and fussy-cut them out. I added some blue vellum to the window. This panel is also mounted on foam squares.

Retirement in Gold

Our pastor retired on Sunday. He was more than our pastor, though - he and his wife were our friends. What a sad day! (But I am very happy for them!) This is the card that I made for him/them.

The main image is a die-cut. I cut it three times from white cardstock and one time from gold foil cardstock. The sentiment was printed from my computer on my laser printer. Then I used my laminator and gold foil on it. The sentiment is matted with gold foil and mounted on foam squares. The main layer is a textured ivory cardstock. I matted that with gold foil, also. The card base is kraft and is approximately 3 1/2 by 6 1/4 inches.

February Calendar Page

OOPS!! Here it is - February 2nd! I missed posting this yesterday. Better late than never. :)

This is a very simple page. It's simply made using a die and pink glitter paper. That's it!

You can find the files for my blank calendar in the links under my blog title. Please feel free to use them. I'd love to hear from you, if you do. Actually, I'd love to hear from you for any reason. :)

Sending Joy

Another Christmas card for today. It's not that I've planned to make so many Christmas cards, it's just what has happened. The image stamp is from Penny Black. The sentiment stamp is one of many that I got for Christmas. I embossed all with silver embossing powder. I matted with shimmery silver cardstock.
