Four Christmas Cards

I have several things going on in my stamping room. I was playing with crinkled and ironed wax paper. I also played with vellum over cardstock and then embossed. And I dug out some bird dies that I had. (Thanks, Leslie, for two of those!) I also got a new kit from Gina K and I really want to get started on using all the new stuff! Lucky for me I'm going away for a few days with a friend and her friends on a scrapbooking retreat. But, I will be making cards instead. Hopefully it will be very productive. I've also been messing around with rearranging my stamping room a bit. It's always something. :-)

Anyway, here are four cards I've made. I'm going to save my ironed, wrinkled wax paper for another time. I have eight card fronts that I've used that technique on, just waiting to be used.

This first card uses a Sizzix embossing folder. I used white mulberry paper over cardstock for the base for this embossed and die-cut bird, which I believe is from Spellbinders. The sentiment is from Impression Obsession.

This one also uses a Spellbinders die. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. The background is vellum over a mottled light green cardstock and then embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, I believe.

The dies for these ornaments are from Spellbinders. I used one to cut the bottom of the cardfront, too, so the bottom of the card that you see is actually on the inside.

The texture on this card is the wax paper that was left over from the pieces that I used as a resist on my as-yet-unused card panels.

Foxy Thinking of You

I think I'll work on my smaller card parts for a while now. This completed die-cut fox has been in my parts for over a year now. I had also recently come across the die that cuts out the dots in circles and I wanted to use it again. Actually, I started with the die on ivory cardstock and then chose the cute little fox to put in the center. He's popped up, of course. I matted with black. I tried several colors behind it and decided that black was best after all - probably mostly because of the little bits of black on the fox. The fox is from Gina K and the sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Super-Simple Pet Sympathy

The next-to-the-last embossed background from my parts. I made a super-simple card for the loss of a pet with it. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and is popped up.

Die-Cut Heart Anniversary

Another embossed panel from my card parts used up. I die-cut the intricate heart and placed it in the embossed rectangle frame and added the sentiment - from Hero Arts. I also matted the panel.

More Christmas Trees

I made two of these cards for next year. The patterned panel was made with a Lawn Fawn stencil. I matted this layer with green and gold. I put gold under the die-cut tree and popped it up on foam squares. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Sympathy Flower

This card started out with a completely different image. I had another piece leftover from the Brutus Monroe class, but just didn't like the way it ended up looking here. The sentiment, the layout and the background (slightly shimmery) were all done for the other image. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. The die-cut flower and leaf were done with Altenew dies. I made them (and several others) in January and I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've used one of them. The flower is popped up.

Sympathy Flowers

I happened across these flowers a while back and put the package on my stamping table to be used soon. Today is the day for three of them. There are more! I stamped the leaves using a Papertrey Ink stamp. The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts. I matted the panel and added it to my card base. The flowers are from Crafter's Square - maybe from the Dollar Tree?

A Foxy Little Thank You

This cute little fox was created using a die set from Gina K that I got in January. I made up a few of each of the little critters and, again, never put them on a card. Well, here is one of them - finally. He is popped up on foam squares, of course! The sentiment is from Hero Arts and is die-cut and popped up. Just a simple and cute little thank you.

Gate-Fold Cards (Mostly)

These cards are all very similar, but none are identical. I have a few more that are the same as some of these. These are mostly a type of gate-fold card. I will have another post for tomorrow, but I'm not sure when I'll get a chance after that to make more cards.

FaLaLa Trees

I cut out these trees about a year and a half ago, so they haven't been around all that long. LOL! I made this card with three of them and I have two left. I've actually started on another card with one of the two remaining ones. If I like it, I will just make the last two of them the same.

SCT Class - Hero Arts - Last One!!

And the cards from the SCT class from Hero Arts. The last one! I did it!! :-) This one involved ink blending, die-cutting and a bit of stenciling.

This may be my last post for a while. It's been fun doing the class cards, but we've had so many things on our to-do list. We've been chipping away at it, but keep adding more things as we go along. We've been doing the Christmas shopping, but have to finish that. And even though the cards have been done for a long time, we still have to do the letter and get the cards ready to mail. Deciding which cards each person will be getting is a job in itself!

Butterfly Thank You

The butterfly on this card is left-over from my SCT card class. The die and the patterned paper are from Pink and Main. I ink-blended a whole lot of colors over the top layer to try to match the plaid background! In the end I was pretty happy with the color results. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. The patterned paper for the background is from Gina K.

Simple Birthday - Times Four

I thought it was about time that I used some of my little Cuttlebug embossing folders. So, here are four cards using one of the sets that I have. For each one, I went over the raised images with a sparkle pen. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. The image panels are all popped up with foam squares.

On this last one, I got a drop of something on it, so I covered that little drip with some sparkle and added other dots as well.

Deckled Rectangles

When I cut out the deckled rectangles for the cards I posted recently, I, of course, was left with the actual rectangles! So, here are three of them on this card. I temporarily fastened them down and stamped the image on them. I decided that was much too plain, so I wanted to ink blend over the image. However, I had used Versafine ink, and it was smearing. So, I still used blending brushes, but I pretty much just "tapped" the color on. It turned out okay. Kind of looks a little bit like northern lights. I adhered the three pieces to a piece of white cardstock and then matted with black. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set.

Sympathy

I was in need of some sympathy cards and so is our church, so I made several nearly the same - just different colors and papers. The stamps are from Hero Arts. The image panels are popped up on foam squares. The "splotch" behind the flowers is from My Favorite Things.

These black and white strips were in a jar and were in my way, so I used them up! LOL! They were already this size except for one strip which I cut in half. I placed them on a black panel and added a popped-up sentiment, which is from Hero Arts.
