Completed Card Bases - Installment #2

Four more card bases made into completed cards. The sentiments on this card are from Gina K. The "wishes" is gold-embossed to match the die-cut butterflies.

Simply added a gold die cut, layered "thank you."

Bottom panel embossed with a Darice folder and lightly inked. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and is gold-embossed.

More gold die-cut butterflies and gold embossing on the sentiment from Gina K. There is a die to cut out the two-stamp sentiment.

More Sanded Daisies

Sorry for a card that's so similar to my last card, but it's what I've got. :-) When I was putting away my last daisy embossing folder, I came across this one and wanted to use it. So, it's basically the same. I embossed on blue, white-core, textured cardstock. Then I used a sanding block to remove the color from the embossing. I colored the flower centers yellow. The sentiment (from Gina K) was in my parts. I brushed on the yellow. It's a little bright, but it works okay, I think. It's popped up. I matted with white and yellow and black.

I received my new Gina K kit on Saturday, so I'm hoping to get to play with it soon. Most of the bathroom remodel decisions and been made and the purchases completed. Now the work just needs to get done!

Birthday Daisies

When I came across this folder recently, I was thinking about doing this card. I finally got it done. I used the folder (from Darice) on white-core, blue textured cardstock. After embossing it, I used a sanding block to sand off the color from the embossing. Then I left the daisies white and colored the flower centers and leaves and stems with markers. The sentiment is from Gina K and is white embossed. The blue panel covers the whole card front.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day, my friends! A couple quick ones to share. I used dies to make them both. I did this one first, and then used the left-overs to make the second one. I'm really trying to use up my parts and to NOT make more! :-) I used a Darice embossing folder on this first one. I believe the "friend" die is from Gina K.

Along with left-over parts, I die-cut the pink "friend" and I used a stitched rectangle die for the image panel.

Stenciled Flowers

I've had this set from Gina K for several years. I've hardly used it, so I pulled it out. It includes some stamps, dies and stencils. I embossed the background with a Darice folder.

This card was done with only the stencils, and then a sentiment piece from my parts box.

December Calendar Page

And my final calendar page for 2025 - can you believe it?? The embossed panel is part of a Darice folder. It's matted, and that's it! I hope everyone is ready for Christmas and can sit back and enjoy the season.

Turquoise-y Christmas

My brother and sister-in-law were in town for a few days and stayed with us. I was showing my sister-in-law a few things in my stamping room. Of course, I had to make them into cards! This first one was done with a Darice folder and also a Cuttlebug folder. The sentiment is from Gina K and is foiled. I added a little Star Dust Stickles to the centers of the snowflakes.

This one uses the same Darice folder. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn. I added a couple flat sequins.

AI Images - Birthday

My friend, Cheryl (Paper Panacea) makes some very beautiful cards using AI-generated images. I thought I would look for an image to use, and this is the one that I chose. I made four cards using the image. They are all "book-fold" cards. Two are identical, and the other two are slightly different. This first one is a top-fold. I embossed the top piece with a Darice folder.

Same as the first, with a side-fold.

And, another side-fold, but with a white panel on the left side which was scored with my Scor-Pal.

Embossed Backgrounds

Looking for an embossing folder the other day, I came across this one from Darice and thought I would make a few more masculine cards. For this first one, I rubbed a kraft-ish ink pad over the embossing. The sentiment had been hot foiled and was in my card parts.

For this one, I embossed it on some mirror cardstock. The sentiment is from Gina K and was foiled.

And for this last one, I embossed black cardstock and rubbed some white ink over it. Again, the sentiment is from Gina K.

Hey

The stencil set that I used for the "Hey" is from Taylored Expressions, and was included in the card class that I took last fall. There are two other words that are made at the same time - "HOORAY!" and "just a note." Hopefully you will be seeing them soon so that they don't just sit on my table for ages. The radiating lines are a part of the "Hey" stenciling. The dies were included with the set. I used the die to cut the "Hey" out of the middle, then cut several more layers to pop it up before inserting it back into the radiating lines piece, which I had cut out with a circle die. I used a Darice embossing folder on the turquoise matting background.

More Birthday Flowers

This stamp set is from Gina K. It was my free gift for spending $75. I stamped the flowers and the circle (all one stamp) and then cut diagonally, but around the circle. Then I cut a mat for the bottom portion. I added the sentiment, which was in two pieces. ("Wishing you a very HAPPY" and "birthday" are separate. The set also includes other options.) I embossed a background piece with one of my favorite Darice folders. The little foil butterfly was die-cut in my card parts. The image panel is mounted on foam squares. I made two of these cards.

More Altenew Flowers

Here are the other two stamped and die-cut images from Altenew. (I posted the first one a few days ago.) This one was colored with Copics markers. The sentiment is from Gina K and is stamped and die-cut. Both the flowers and the sentiment are popped up with foam squares. I embossed the patterned paper background with a Darice folder and then rubbed white ink lightly over it.

This one I took out of my trash. I had watercolored it and never liked it. When I was looking for something else, I rescued it. I still don't like it, but I thought someone else might. :-) Same basic description as the one above.

More Anniversary Wishes

Same patterned paper as yesterday's. Sentiment from Gina K. Embossing with a Darice folder. I donate cards to our church to help out the library. I noticed we were out of anniversary ones, so I have to replenish the supply.

Hot Foil Anniversary

I keep thinking that I need to sell my Glimmer Hot Foil system. I don't use it much and I don't have much for plates. But, I spent some time making anniversary sentiments and a few other things the other day. Then I ran across a couple seldom used dies and had to try those out, too. So here is the first of my latest creations.

The opening was done with a die. I embossed a piece of vellum with a Darice folder and put it behind the opening. I popped the entire panel up on foam squares. The flowers and leaves were die-cut from scraps of foiled cardstock. The sentiment is popped up on foam squares, also. I have one more card for tomorrow. I hope to get some more time and finish up some more cards very soon. It's summertime - time for golf and pickleball!

Musical Birthday

A very quick card for today. A couple weeks ago, I was looking through my supplies to see if there was anything that I could get rid of. I came across my Stampin' Up! Coluzzle system. Anyone remember those?? It was before dies! I had to try it out, for old time's sake. I cut these two circles with it. (It also cuts ovals.) Of course, I couldn't toss them. One was white, so I used a blending brush to add slight color around the edges and added the purple circle over it. Then I embossed them with a Sizzix folder and mounted on foam squares. The music die cut was in my card parts and I added it on top of the circles. The sentiment is stamped and die-cut with a Gina K set and popped up. I embossed the background piece with a Darice embossing folder.

'Tis the Season

My second Christmas card for 2025. The focal image is left-over from my calendar making. It's part of a Darice folder, matted with green metallic and popped up on foam squares. The sentiment is from Echo Park.

An Everlasting Love

This card uses a die that I got from my friend in March. I think I only have one unused item/set that I received from her. I decided to make three of these cards, like I had told myself to do last year, but have forgotten about! Then I can keep one and give the other two away - to my church and to the thrift store that Cheryl donates to (and volunteers at!)

The die is from Impression Obsession, the sentiment is from The Paper Company and the embossing was done with a folder from Darice. As I think you can tell from the photos, the background cardstocks are metallic and the sentiment is white heat embossed. I also scored the lines with my Scor-Pal.

More Tiny, Die-Cut Flowers

Finally, here is the other die-cut that I made about a month ago! I colored the flowers on this one and added it to a panel that was embossed with a Darice folder and matted. The sentiment is from a Gina K set.

Thank You Flowers

Finally - another card! Life is just too busy, but it's all good! I guess I didn't get the embossing very deep on the bottom of the white panel because it doesn't show very well. But, it's there! I got a new die at the Dollar Tree, so of course I had to try it out right away. I did it once with white on the top of the panel, and once in ivory, but just the thin strip. I colored the ivory one, and you'll see it some day. I scored the lines with my Scor-Buddy. The sentiment is from Avery Elle.
