Halloween - and a Short Break

This card came about because I bought this Memory Box die on clearance at a local stamping/paper store. Of course I had to try it right away, and then make a card with it. I think I will make a couple more like it. The paper on the card front and also the piece behind it are from a very old matstack from Recollections. The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions. The main panel is popped up from the card base.

And, of course I had to use the piece that was cut out from the first card! LOL! Simply matted and popped up. The strip across is from the same pad. This sentiment is also from Repeat Impressions.

I will probably be missing for a little while. I'm having surgery on a couple fingers on Tuesday and I also have to really get to work on my calendars. Time is just flying by and I haven't done many of the calendar pages! I'll be back, though.

Halloween Cards for the Grandkids

I got the grandkids' Halloween cards done a couple days ago. They are all the same, except for the patterned paper background. They are gate-fold cards. The stamps are from Gina K. The paper is from Recollections. Simple enough.

I'm slowly getting some things caught up. Going through photos for our 50th anniversary party was a task that I'm glad to be done with. In some ways digital photography is better than printed photos, but in some ways it's not!! At any rate, I have gone through enough of them and now our son will take over. :-) My calendars are half done, but at least I have time for them. But, time is racing by!! I still find time to do some golfing, but it seems like my friends are done for the year and it's getting harder to convince Jim to get out on the course with me! Anyway, sorry about getting behind on my blog visiting again. Computer time has very much taken a back seat for me.

Happy Halloween!

Wow, I almost forgot to make Halloween cards for the grandkids! Oops! I put together these five cards in about a half hour. A record for me, for sure. They are nothing special whatsoever, but they will work to hold the little bit of cash that the kids get. The papers are all Gina K, and the stamps are, also. That's about it. Happy Halloween.

Halloween Cards for the Grandkids

It hit me on Saturday that I needed to make Halloween cards for the grandkids. Oops - kind of snuck up on me. No worries - when I get up at 2:00 a.m. I have plenty of time for making cards. Here are the three designs that I made. I made two of these second and third cards. All of the stamps are from a fall/Halloween set from Gina K and the patterned paper is from Gina K also. I have the matching dies. I mounted most panels on these three cards on foam squares. I added some black gel pen to the eyes of the spider.
On this one, I added a thin orange strip sticker along the patterned paper panel on the left.
On this one, I added some Wink of Stella to the ghosts' eyes and mouths.

Happy Halloween

Here are a couple Halloween cards that I made. I happened across this Darice folder that I'm pretty sure I have never used. For this first card, I embossed it on white textured cardstock and rubbed black ink over it. The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions and is mounted on foam squares.
For the second card, i used the same folder, but used textured black cardstock and used a sanding block on it. Same sentiment. These cards are two of a LOT of cards that I'm giving to a friend for the thrift store that she volunteers at. I'm so happy to be able to donate my cards to her!

Halloween Cards for the Grandkids

Here are the cards that I made for our grandkids.  They all use stamps from Repeat Impressions, and the papers are all from a stack from Recollections. The matting is all black, and the image panels are all mounted on foam squares.

I made two of this first card, for the two older grandsons.
I made two of this card (with two different pumpkin faces) for the two younger grandsons. I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the pumpkin's face.
And this is the card I made for our granddaughter. Again, there is sparkle on the pumpkin's face - the eyes, nose and mouth.

Happy Halloween #4

The last of the Halloween cards. I made two like this for our two oldest grandsons.

Once again, the background paper is from a stack by Recollections. I had this piece of white with the oval cut out of it left-over from the card from a couple days ago. I just happened to set it on this piece of paper that I had gotten out. I thought it worked out great! Funny how that happens sometimes. :) The ghosts are from a Recollections stamp set and the sentiment is from an old dollar set by Studio G. The ghosts are mounted on foam squares.

Happy Halloween #3

This card uses the same background paper as the two cards from yesterday. For this one, I used the same sentiment (from an old dollar stamp set from Studio G.) I matted it with black and mounted it on foam squares. I stamped the image (from a Halloween Recollections set) and colored with Copics. I cut it out with an oval Nestability and used a scalloped die on black for the mat. This one is for our granddaughter.

Happy Halloween - #1 and #2

I finally got around to making my Halloween cards for the grandkids. Three will go out in the mail tomorrow, heading for Chicago. The other two will be hand-delivered. They are all pretty simple this year. (Not unlike every other year, I guess!!)

The background paper for all of them comes from a pad from Recollections. The papers were all 8.5 x 11, but I cut them down to fit on standard sized cards. I trimmed off the lower left corner of this one, along the spider web edge. I matted with black. The sentiment is from an old dollar set by Studio G. I stamped it with Versamark and embossed with detail white embossing powder. The ghosts are from a Halloween set by Recollections. I stamped them on white, cut them out, and mounted on foam squares.
This piece had the spider already on it. I simply matted the paper with black, added the sentiment (same as above), and then popped up the ghost. These two cards go to the two youngest grandsons.

Halloween Bat

Another Halloween card for the grandkids.

As with yesterday's card, I used the owl punch from Stampin' Up! for this card. My friend Bonnie saw this card on Pinterest and wanted to recreate it. I thought it was cute, too, and made this card. The bat is the owl punch. The wings are a long oval Nestability cut in half and then cut with a circle punch. The branch is also an SU! punch. I sponged white ink lightly on all of the edges. I added googlie eyes and mounted the bat on foam squares. I punched the moon with a circle punch and sponged orange ink around the edges. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado. I used an orange marker to color it. For the background, I used a Paper Studio embossing folder, brayered white ink on it, and then used it on a piece of black cardstock. I used orange cardstock for the matting.

Halloween Ghosts

One of my Halloween cards for the grandchildren. A friend was over to stamp on Wednesday and I worked on them. She brought the Stampin' Up! owl punch and I made these ghosts with it. Tomorrow you will see another card using it. The spider web background was embossed with a Paper Studio embossing folder. I brayered some white ink over the raised parts after embossing. Bonnie brought over the "BOO" stamp, also. I stamped it with Versamark and embossed it with white powder. I  cut the stamped sentiments with a Nestability die, lightly sponged some white ink around the edges and mounted them on foam squares. The eyes were done with the owl punch, also, and I added the white dots with a gel pen.

Tags So Much - Part One

Today's cards (and tags) all use the Stampin' Up! set called "Tags So Much." It consists of six tag stamps. These four are actually tag-shaped. The cards I'll share tomorrow are not. I'm really tired of using tag stamps! With the cards for tomorrow, I'm done with tags - at least for a while. I'll be moving on to my next stack. That means I'm about half done. At this rate, I should be done about next October.

I stamped this spider stamp onto orange cardstock and cut it out with the coordinating SU! punch. I colored the spider with a medium gray Copic marker. I colored the border with orange. I added Diamond Glaze to the eyes. (I should have colored them white first, though.) I matted with black and mounted on foam squares. The patterned paper is from Recollections. I matted that with orange and then black. The sentiment is from Repeat Impressions.
I'm not sure what this card could be used for, but it is "sew sweet." :) I paper-pieced the flower and added an enamel dot to the center. I matted with the same paper as the flower and mounted on foam squares. The bottom layer was cut with a die at our Group Gathering in June.

And here are two more tags that have not yet been made into cards. I inked the valentine one with pale pink ink and and colored the words with a red marker. I matted with red and added a red mini brad.

For the Christmas one, I colored with markers and matted with red.

Happy Halloween

A couple quick Halloween cards for the grandkids. I also made another one like I had made previously. Since they're for two families, I can go with duplicates:)

This first one is for our one granddaughter. I used House Mouse stamps from The Paper Studio. I stamped the image with Memento black ink and colored with copics. I matted with black, mounted on foam squares and added Stardust Stickles to the wings. I colored the sentiment with markers.
I used a Stampin' Up! stamp and SU punches for this tag. I colored the spider and added googlie eyes and mounted on foam squares. The patterned papers are from a Recollections pad.

Festive Four

These cards were all made using stamps from the Stampin' Up! set called "Festive Four." I also used Inkadinkado sentiment stamps for all of them. (Edited to add: Actually, the "Happy Holidays" is from Stampin' Up!) The backgrounds were all done using a Tim Holtz stencil (thanks, Kris) and a sponge and ink. The images were all colored with Copics and mounted on foam squares. I think that's all there is to them!

I'm making good progress on my quest to use all of my Stampin' up! sets. Hope you're not getting too bored - there is a long way to go!
