Daisies Edgeabilities in Blue

And the last of my Edgeabilities cards, at least for quite a while. For this card, I just used the die to cut off the bottom of the front of the card. I colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. I added blue panels to the top of the front and to the bottom of the inside of the card. I embossed the front blue panel with an embossing folder from Cuttlebug. The sentiment was stamped on a strip of white cardstock and I added scored lines with my ScorPal.

Calla Lily in (Mostly) White

Well, here is the Calla Lily Edgeabilities card that I promised. I decided to try one without any coloring. I think it works okay, but the colored ones are probably a better choice. The sentiment is from Avery Elle and I embossed the yellow piece with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.

Daisy Edgeabilities Card #2

And here is my second Edgeabilities card. I have three like this. I still have two more cut out, ready to make into cards - one more in a different style with daisies and one with calla lilies. Hopefully they will be coming soon, but we do have plans for today so we'll see if I can get them done. I colored this one with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. As with yesterday's card, I embossed the backing piece with a Darice folder.

Daisy Edgeabilities Birthday

I haven't used my Edgeabilities dies for years!!! I thought it was about time, so here is my first recent card. I have cut out a few more, so hopefully I will get a chance to finish them up and post them for you soon. I had made this intending for it to be a top-flap card, but I ended up turning it on its side. I did the cutting and embossing and then I colored slightly with Copics markers. I embossed the pink piece with a Darice folder. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. A while back, I bought some teeny circular magnets and I finally used a couple of them on this card to hold it closed. To cover the backside of the flap, I traced around the edge and carefully cut it out. However, upon searching for and looking at my previous Edgeabilities cards, I had a "Duh!" moment realizing that I could have used the die! That would have been so much easier. Oh well - this worked. The magnets are between layers of cardstock, just in case you were wondering.

Stenciled and Stamped Butterflies

These cards "happened" because I had four pre-cut squares leftover from something. They were in my white cardstock stack and I was going through and getting rid of pieces that were just too small to use. I used a relatively newer-to-me stamp set from Gina K. I have stamps, dies and stencils with this set. I matted each square with black and added them to the card front. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things. I added a few black sequins.

Then I used the last square for this card. I had actually started with this one and stenciled the background shape of the butterfly. However, I got some extra ink in the upper right-hand corner. I later decided to keep it and make it usable by ink-blending some more ink around the edges. I matted this one with black, also, and finished it very simply with just a sentiment. I added a few teeny, tiny black gems to the image and the sentiment.

Lovely Birthday Flowers

I woke up early this morning and remembered that I didn't have a post scheduled for today, and I really wanted to keep up my streak so I headed to my stamping room and put this card together. I had already stenciled the spiral design. I had made the black frame with two Waffle Flower dies, so I combined those pieces and added them to a card front. The flowers were on my table, waiting to be used. I had made them a few days ago when I was playing with an unused Gina K set. So I added them. The sentiment is from a My Favorite Things set. Poof! I hope you all have a lovely day!

Edited to add: This stencil is from a set I purchased on Amazon. You can find it here.

Gel Press - Three Times

I asked for (and received!) a set of acrylic paints for Christmas. I wanted to use them with my gel press. I finally did, but I had kind of forgotten how to use them and I put quite a bit paint on the gel plate. Oh well - I still used the pieces. Can't toss them, you know! So here are the cards I made with them. I had used some ivory-colored, lightish paper. For this first one, I used glitter paper and dies to cut out the scene and the thanks. I also matted the panel with black.

All of my panels were cut with my Waffle Flower rectangle dies.
I used a die to cut the sentiment and then some off-white paper for the backing for it. I matted this one with black, also.

I used Altenew dies for this sentiment, and also some ferns. The die-cuts are all three layers thick and the top layer is glitter cardstock again. The card base on this one is white - the others were ivory.

Alcohol Ink Flower

My first attempt at a flower with alcohol inks. I like the way it turned out. I made it a mini-slim line card. The piece I started with was 4 x 6 inches, so I just added a quarter inch strip of black on each side of it. I stamped the sentiment directly on the panel, but I didn't realize that it hadn't dried and I smeared it. I stamped the sentiment again, matted it and added it over the smeared stamping. I also used white and black Posca pens in the flower center.

With Love and Prayers

I used some of my new Gina K things for this card. I've had them for quite a while and I'm happy that I finally got to use some. The images are all die-cut and colored with stencils, except the flower centers, which are stamped. The two smaller flowers are mounted on foam squares. The sentiment is also from as yet unused set from Gina K. The paper is from my stash. I happened across it a few weeks ago and liked it and wanted to add it to a card. I thought this would make a fine sympathy card, or just a thinking of you.

Happy Birthday with Alcohol Inks

Another card I made using alcohol inks. This one is kind of pretty. I'm working on it! The next card I post (Monday) I really like. I matted this one and mounted the panel at an angle and added the matted, raised sentiment.

Alcohol Ink Hello

A simple Hello card for today. I've been playing a little bit with alcohol ink. So far I don't have good paper for it. I've used something from The Dollar Tree and also photo paper. Neither is great, but it's still been fun. By the time this posts, I will have received some better cardstock and perhaps have played around a bit more! I'm excited to try it some more. At any rate, here is something that I did for now. I matted the small piece and added it to a card base. The die-cut sentiment is from Altenew. I layered it up and added some Diamond Glaze to it.

Last Two Valentines

Two more valentines, and then I should be done until next February!! They are not like Christmas cards - that keep coming all year long. The first one came about because I had some of this pink patterned paper on my table after making next year's February calendar page. I thought these pieces would work well on a mini-slim line card. I placed them on a piece of black matting. The hearts and the sentiment were stamped and die-cut. I added the hearts on the hearts with an old stamp from Stampin' Up! The hearts and sentiment are mounted on foam squares. The "love" has a layer of black under it, also.
The cupcake on this one was on the patterned paper that I used on each of these cards. I fussy cut it and added it to a piece of cardstock (which I then fussy cut, also) and added foam squares. I also added some tiny hearts that I had cut from scraps of red glitter cardstock. The sentiment is from Darcie's. The patterned paper that I stamped it on is matted with red.

Happy Birthday - and Winter

And the last (for now!) cards with the Gina K "Hygge Time" stamp set. The snowmen and the sentiment on the second card are from the set. The images are stamped, colored with Copics, and cut out with the coordinating dies. The snowmen are all mounted on foam squares. The paper on this first one is ancient paper from Recollections, and I added thin, shiny, sticker strips along the edges.

I embossed the background for these snowmen with a Sizzix folder, and then matted it. I added Wink of Stella to the snowmen bodies.

Enjoy Your Day

Three more images from the set I've been using from Gina K. There is a lot of sparkle in this card that you probably can't see - the purple mattings are glitter cardstock and the candles have Wink of Stella.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Two more valentines. I used a Papertrey Ink die to cut out the three squares on a thin piece of paper, then used that as a stencil to add the very pale pink. I used three Fiskars heart stamps to fill the squares. The sentiment was from the same set. I've had this set for many, many years and this may be the first time I've ever used it!

Just like the first one, except with pink hearts and another matting layer. I had stamped this one first, but the ink had not stamped well - it had pooled on the stamps and not stamped well at all, even though I tried stamping it about three times, using my MISTI, of course. I just set it aside to use the back of it for something else. Well, lo and behold - when I came back to it a few days later, it looked great! I know that Gina always talks about her inks having a "smoothing agent" and I guess it works! So, I added the sentiment (this time over the light pink squares) and added the layering.

Happy Valentine's Day, Everyone!!

Warm and Cozy Hug

Again, this card is made using stamped, colored and die-cut pieces from Gina K's set called "Hygge Time." The nearest cup is mounted on foam squares. I was pretty lucky as I put these cards together. I had colored all of the images and then looked for patterned paper to match. Sometimes I strike out doing it that way, but I had papers to match all of my images this time. The sentiment is from the set, also, and is matted and mounted on foam squares.

Cozy Birthday

The next few days will have more cards made with the same Gina K set. It's called "Hygge Time." I used two more die-cut pieces on this card - the two coffee mugs. I found the scrap of striped cardstock on top of my patterned paper pads, so I decided to use it. I thought it looked quite nice with the green. The sentiment is also from that set.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Do What Makes You Happy

I'm not sure what this card would ever be used for, but here it is! LOL! I made it using more images from the Gina K set that I used on yesterday's card. There are seven images that I had stamped, die-cut and colored with Copics. For the background, I used a Papertrey Ink die with three windows to make a "stencil" and then ink-blended through that. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. I cut the layers with my Waffle Flower dies. I find that I use them all the time now.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Enjoy Your Day

This card was made using another as-yet unused set from Gina K. There are tons of little images and dies to go with them. I stamped them all, cut them all out and colored all of them. Now I have to figure out how to use them on cards, since I do NOT want to file them in my card parts! So, here are three of them. The cat is mounted on foam squares. I added the images to die-cut circles and I also used a die cover plate for a subtle background, which is matted with black.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Birthday for a Friend

I finally took time to use another set from Gina K that I had not used yet. The flowers and leaves all used stamps from that set. The flowers are mounted on foam squares. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things. The panel layers were cut with dies.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Simple Heart Thank You

The die that I used a few days ago for the baby card also had this heart and flower on it. (It was one three x three inch or so Cuttlebug thinlet-ish plate.) I colored them and used them on this card. I used dies for the circles, too. I added Stickles to the flower center and popped up the circle panel. I added a matted strip of patterned paper to the left side.

An "Extra" Valentine

And one more valentine - this one for no one in particular. The patterned papers are from a quite old matstack from Recollections. The bug and sentiment stamps are from a Fiskars set. I die-cut the panels using my new Waffle Flower rectangle dies. I really do love them! The image and sentiment die-cut shapes are mounted on foam squares. I added some shimmer with Wink of Stella to the bug's wings and also to the little die-cut hearts on the sentiment panel.

Baby Boy

Our nephew just had a baby boy last Sunday. Here is the card I made for them. The baby, rubber duckie and bottle were cut from white with a very old, unused Cuttlebug die. I colored them with Copics and then paper-pieced the baby's onesie. The ovals were cut with Nestabilities. The oval, duckie and bottle are mounted on foam squares.

Valentine for Two Grandsons

Here is the valentine that our two youngest grandsons will be getting. I die-cut the hearts and added red glitter paper behind. I stamped the sentiment with the stamp from the Recollections set that I used for yesterday's cards.

Valentine for Our Granddaughter and for One Grandson

Here are my first two valentines. I used a Recollections set that I've had for a while, but I'm not sure if I'd used it or not. It consists of two embossing folders and three stamps. This first one is for our granddaughter. I used purple mirror cardstock for the matting on each panel. One of the embossing folders with the set embossed the background on the second card, and the other folder embossed the panels I used for the sentiments. The stamps were all from the set - the two sentiments and the hearts behind the stamping. The sentiment panels are mounted on foam squares. The background on this first card was done with a Darice folder.

I added tiny little die-cut red sparkly hearts on the corners of this sentiment panel.

One Stamp Set - Three Cards

I finally took some time to start working on some unused stamp sets that I've had for quite a while now. I think they are all from Gina K, but I'll let you know as I use them. The stamp set that I used on these three cards is from Gina K. I made three fairly different cards with the same set.

For this first one, I use Gina's Wreath Builder. I added some Pearl Pen drops to the flower centers. The sentiment panel was cut with Nestabilities and is popped up on foam squares.
I had a piece of cardstock with a circle cut out of it that I used as a stencil for the panel on this card. It has a very finely scalloped edge. I ink-blended through the circle, then stamped the flower and leaves and sentiment in black. I added an embossed strip of white glitter paper to the bottom and also a double scored line above that. I also added a few Gina K black sequins.
Just all simple stamping on this one. I added the panel at an angle. Again, the sentiment is cut with Nestabilities and I added more of the black sequins.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Purple Foil Birthday

And this is (hopefully) the last of my card parts for a while. (Don't get me wrong! I still have LOTS of card parts, but they are all neatly filed away in a binder in clear pocket sleeves.) I had used a Gina K Foil Mates sheet and purple foil to make the purple-on-white foiled piece. Then I took the left-over piece and foiled it on a piece of white cardstock I had printed black on my laser printer. That way I could use the whole piece of foil. The parchment paper that I used was a bit crinkly, though, and the foiling didn't work all that well. I just cut the pieces down to the best parts and put them on this card. I started by placing them on a piece of black cardstock. Then I trimmed down the black piece to make a thin border all around. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I die-cut it and popped it up on foam squares.

February Calendar Page

Wow, it was just Christmas and the New Year, except that now it's February already! Here is my calendar page for the month. If you are interested in the Excel file that I use to print my blank calendars, you can find it under my blog title. The heart and the matting for it were cut on my Cameo Silhouette. Happy February!
