I had things to be done yesterday, but I took a break to spend some time in my stamping room. I decided to check out the challenges at SplitCoastStampers and chose to do the Technique Lovers' Challenge.
This week's challenge is "Negative Glitter." You die-cut an opening and add glitter underneath using double-sided tape and colored glitter. I used quarter-inch Scor-Tape on a white card base and put three strips of it across the card, positioned under where the opening would be. I removed the backing on one piece of tape and sprinkled the glitter on it. I cleaned off the excess glitter, removed the paper from the second piece of tape and added the second color of glitter. Then I repeated the process and added the third color of glitter. When I was in Omaha, I had used Sheri's die to cut this front panel from Papertrey Ink's Terra Cotta Tile cardstock, and it had been sitting on my table, waiting to be used. I finally had the perfect use for it! I stamped the loon (from Repeat Impressions) on the card front and then the sentiment (from Hero Arts.) It was lacking a little something, so I used a fine-tip marker to add the hand-doodles around the edges. Then I adhered the card front to the card base.
This card is for my dad, who will be 90 on Friday. We're having a party for him and I sure hope it's well-attended!

Another card I made for SplitCoastStampers challenges. It's fun to have time to do some!
This card is for the Technique Lover's Challenge - to make a card with a sentiment "Down Under" and also for the Clean and Simple challenge with the theme "Love." I figure nothing says "love" better than a new baby! I stamped the sentiment from the Stampin' Up! set called "For a Friend" (The next set in my goal of using all of my SU sets) and colored with Copics. I also added tiny gems to the flower centers. I matted with hot pink. I embossed the top layer with a Darice embossing folder (which is becoming one of my favorites!), cut it in two pieces, mounted on Dimensionals and added to the stamped layer.

I made this card a couple weeks ago for the SplitCoastStampers Technique Lover's Challenge. The challenge was to do a "no-line piercing" technique and then color it. (You can find the tutorial here. Basically, you stamp on the back of your cardstock, pierce around the lines of the stamped image, and then turn it over and color.) I used an Inkadinkado tulip stamp and watercolored with an aquapainter and Stampin' Up! inks. I matted with Mellow Moss cardstock and mounted on foam squares. I embossed the bottom piece with a Stampin' Up!/Sizzix folder. The sentiment is from TPC Studio.

This card is for yesterday's SplitCoastStampers Technique Lover's Challenge - Acrylic Block Collage. You can find the challenge and technique here.
I inked up my long acrylic block with inks from Stampin' Up!: More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie and Really Rust, then misted and applied it to the front of my card. I used stamps from a Gina K set to stamp in the same colors, after masking off the top and bottom. Then I used Chocolate Chip to stamp an image three times (two of them were stamped off first) and also the sentiment, which is from a Hero Arts set.

I made this card for two SplitCoastStampers challenges - the Clean and Simple challenge to use Kraft and primary/bright colors, and the Technique Lover's challenge to use your embossing folder and a solid stamp to do "embossed kissing." You can find the tutorial for that here.
My flowers (from Stampin' Up!'s A Beautiful Life set) were inked up with Stampin' Up!'s Summer Sun. I inked up my Cuttlebug folder with Real Red to use for "kissing." I cut the flowers out and used Real Red and a punch for the centers. I mounted the flowers on Dimensionals. I made the design on the white layer with my tracing wheel (remember those things???) and my Scor-Pal. The matting is Real Red and the sentiment is a rub-on. The card base is PTI Kraft.

Today’s card is for two challenges again – the Technique Lover’s Challenge #209, and the Clean and Simple Challenge #3. The TLC was to wind rubber bands around a wooden block, stamp with it, emboss it and then sponge over it. The CAS challenge was a sketch.
So, here is my card. I stamped the rubber bands with VersaMagic Chalk ink Aloe Vera, embossed with clear embossing powder, then sponged with Pale Plum and Perfect Plum. The Pale Plum cardstock layer on the bottom is embossed with a Distressed Stripes Cuttlebug folder and sponged with Perfect Plum. The heart sticker is from Michael's. The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up!’s Thank You Kindly.

This card is for Technique Lover's Challenge #192 on SplitCoastStampers. Here is a link to the tutorial and the challenge. What you do is take a decorative napkin, use just the printed layer, and iron it on to freezer paper. Be sure to follow the directions in the tutorial. My napkin has four panels, so I can make four cards from each one. I've had these napkins for YEARS, and it was nice to finally open them up! The card is approximately 4.5 inches square.I used Versamark on vellum with gold detail embossing powder to stamp the 'thanks' and sponged Versamark around the edge, again using the gold embossing powder.
