Foiled Birthday

Finally - a card! I don't know how life can be SO busy!! I used an Anna Griffin brass stencil for the main image. I used Deco Foil over it and used my Gina K Fuse to foil over it. The sentiment was also done using that technique. I embossed the border around the main image with a Gina K die. The image panel is popped up on foam squares. The card is done with ivory cardstock.

Birthday Daisies

Another card using up some stickers. I made four of these cards. The daisy stickers were from Martha Stewart. I embossed the bottom with an Anna Griffin folder from Cuttlebug. I also added a couple embossed lines with my Scor-Pal and then drew black lines on them for emphasis. I stamped the sentiment, from Bo Bunny, before embossing. Added a matting layer of yellow and called it done.

Die-Cut Flowers

These flower sprigs were all cut from a die and then watercolored. For this first one, I added thin strips of cardstock along the edges. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

EDITED TO ADD: I don't own this die - I cut these at our Group Gathering several years ago. The die is from Memory Box and it's called Bloomington Border.
For this one, I embossed the background with an Anna Griffin Cuttlebug folder and added a die-cut sentiment.
For this one, I simply added the sentiment.

Glittered Anniversary

This is the card I made for our son and daughter-in-law for their anniversary, which was on Monday. I used an Anna Griffin brass stencil, double-sided sticky paper and ultrafine and microfine glitter. I die-cut the sentiment. It is SO sparkly in real life!

Petal Prints #1 Stair-Step

Moving along with my quest to use all of my Stampin' Up! stamps (and "cheating" by passing up several of them), I present to you this card using the SU! set called "Petal Prints." It consists of three outline stamps, the three more solid stamps to stamp under the outlines, and one background stamp of three leaves. I am only going to use the outline stamps in my two cards using this set. I stamped the flower and then colored it using Copic markers. I decided to use one of the stair-step cards that I cut quite a while ago. (If you want my instructions for this card, and to see other stair-step cards I have made in the past, you can use this link.)
The background was embossed with a Cuttlebug Anna Griffin folder. The sentiment was cut with a die.

Watercolor Garden - #1 and #2

Making a little more progress on my Stampin' Up! project. Both of these cards are made with the SU! set called "Watercolor Garden." The stamps from the set for this first card are the flower, the bee, the stem, and the leaves. I added Star Dust Stickles to the bees' wings. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. It is mounted on foam squares.
All of the stamps on this card are from the set - the sentiment, the flower, the flower center, the stem, and the leaves. I added Wink of Stella to the flower and the center. I embossed the green panel with a Cuttlebug Anna Griffin folder.

Elegant Embroidery #2 - #6

A short while ago, I posted a card that I made with the Stampin' Up! set called "Elegant Embroidery." I said at that time that it would probably be the only card I would post with it. Well, I was wrong:) I still had most of these pieces sitting on my table and just couldn't throw them away, as usual. So, here they are. Several of them are very similar. This embossing folder is an Anna Griffin by Cuttlebug. The stamped image is matted and mounted on foam squares. I stamped it with a Kaleidacolor pad.
This image was colored with markers before stamping.
The lacy-stamped panel is mounted on foam squares. The sentiment is from Papertrey.
I stamped the leafy design  five times, lining it up with my Stamp-a-ma-jig. I scored the lines with my Scor-Pal. The sentiment is from Papertrey. I stamped it with Versamark and embossed it with clear embossing powder.

This image was also colored with markers before stamping. And there you have them!

Orange and Gray Color Swap

I made this card for this month's color swap in my stamping group. The colors (in case you can't tell!) are orange and gray.

I cut the swirl while I was in Des Moines at our Group Gathering in June. I believe it may be Memory Box. The butterflies were cut with Memory Box dies. I punched the little flowers. After stamping the sentiment, the background was embossed with an Anna Griffin embossing folder by Cuttlebug and matted with gray.

Lime Green and Red Color Swap Birthday

The colors for my stamping group's challenge this month are red and lime green. This is the card I made for it.

I started by cutting the white rectangle with my Memory Box stitched rectangle die. The poppies are from Penny Black. I stamped them with Memento ink. One was stamped on scrap cardstock and then I stamped two of them directly on this piece. I colored them with Copics and carefully cut out the one on the scrap. I added Pop Dots to that one and added it to the other. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The lime green is textured. I embossed it with a Cuttlebug Anna Griffin folder and lightly sanded it. I matted both pieces with black and added them to the white cardbase.

Artist Choice Swap

This card is for an "Artist Choice" swap in my little stamping group. I left off the sentiment so the recipient could use it for whatever occasion they would like.

For some reason, I had this cardstock cut and scored into a card base. As you know, I rarely use anything but white! But, I decided to use this one up. I embossed it with a new (to me) embossing folder - Anna Griffin Matelasse for Cuttlebug. I embossed the strip across the middle with the border folder that came with this set. (Thanks for enabling me, Vicki!) The flower image is from a Gina K set. I stamped it with Memento black ink and colored it with Copics. I added yellow pearls to the flower centers. (FYI - I DID do this card before I did the "hello" card from a few days ago using this folder. And I wrote the post before that one. You just saw that one first:) )

Pink!

Here is another card using a stamp-off from Annie. She sent these embossed frames and I chose a pink one.

I added the pieces of an Anna Griffin die cut that were left after making a card at our card class in Valley Junction last week, behind the cut-out rectangle. (I'm pretty sure it's Anna Griffin, but I don't guarantee that.) I found some tulle in my scrap/junk box and added it behind the die-cut pieces. I mounted the entire panel on foam squares. Not sure if I'll add a sentiment or not. It's very unusual for me to NOT have a sentiment!

Card Class Cards

While our group was at Outstamping Designs in Valley Junction, Iowa, we got to make four cards from a class they have taught. They are all so beautiful! I'm sharing them here without much description. I put the cards together, but they are not my creations - I'm not taking credit for them (even though I'd love to!) They use Anna Griffin dies and folders, Cuttlebug dies and folders and Memory Box die - I believe. Also ribbon and tulle and stamps and other embellishments. These cards are mostly five by seven (except for the pink one, which is larger than A2 but smaller than 5 x 7.)

Super-Simple Thanks

This is what was left of a 12 x 12 piece of patterned paper from Anna Griffin. I trimmed it close to the edge of the pattern and matted it with plain purple cardstock. (In real life, it matches much better than it appears in the photo!) The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. The card base is ivory.

Flutter By Wednesday #188

It's Wednesday, so it's time for a new challenge from Flutter By Wednesdays. This week's challenge is open, so anything goes as long as you include a butterfly, angel or fairy. The challenge is sponsored by Rhoda Design Studio. We on the Design Team were offered three digital images from Rhoda Design Studio that we could use if we chose. Here is a link to the Etsy Shop. You do not need to use one of the Rhoda Design Studio images to participate.

I colored my image with Copic markers and cut it out and embossed it with an oval Nestability. The matting was cut with a Labels Ten Nestability. The sentiment is from Gina K. I embossed the sentiment panel with a Sizzix folder. The little butterflies were punched with a Martha Stewart punch. I added pearls to the butterflies and the frame. The image panel is mounted on Dimensionals. The background paper is from Anna Griffin.

Black and White - Embossing Paste Thank You

I found myself without a card to post this morning, so darn – I had to make one. What a way to spend part of Mother’s Day morning! :) It did have to be a quick card, though, so here it is.

I used an Anna Griffin brass stencil for the main image, which was done with Glossy White Dreamweavers Embossing Paste. I mounted it on white. The dotted paper is by Die Cuts With a View. I used a Dreamweavers stencil for the Thank You, directly on the DCWV – again with the embossing paste. That is ALL there is to it!

Happy Mother’s Day to all!! Thanks so much for spending a little bit of it with me, and I hope you’ll come back and visit again soon!

CAS Challenge #5 - Embrace Happiness

Today’s card was done for the Clean and Simple Challenge for the week which was posted on Monday – to used greens and blues.

The stamp I used is from the same Anna Griffin set as the tulip I used a few days ago. I colored the basket of the topiary with a Stampin’ Up! Brocade Blue marker. The grasses, trunk and leaves are colored with Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke and Certainly Celery markers. Not sure I did it exactly right, but I think I did some 'thumping' on the leaves. I had colored them with Certainly Celery, then 'bounced' my Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke markers on them. I used my Scor-Pal for the background. The image panel is matted with Brocade Blue and mounted on Pop Dots. The sentiment is from a Papertrey Ink set called “Mixed Message.” I stamped it with, and mounted it on, Always Artichoke.

Anna Griffin Tulip

My card for today features a stamp by Anna Griffin. I’ve had it for ages, and I’m not sure if I had ever used it or not until this card - which I promised a few days ago that I would upload.

I colored the stamp with Stampin’ Up!’s Old Olive, Cameo Coral and Creamy Caramel markers. I used a blender pen on the images after they were stamped to fill in the images a little bit. I cut and embossed them using an Oval Nestability, then left the die in place and lightly went over them with blue chalk, leaving a white border on them. The scalloped frame is Cameo Coral, the green strips are Old Olive, and the sentiment is by Stampendous. I used my Scor-Pal and I added some pearls. True confessions time: the thin Old Olive strip at the bottom was added to cover up an 'oopsie.' I got a line from the edge of the sentiment stamp - but I think the strip looks like it was part of the design all along!
