SplitCoastStampers Featured Stamper Challenge

It's been a long time since I've participated in a SplitCoastStampers challenge, but I finally did:) This card is for this week's Featured Stamper challenge. The Featured Stamper is Maureen, and this is the card I cased.

I stamped the leaves (from Stampin' Up!'s Best Blossoms set) with Old Olive ink - three times without reinking. The butterfly is from shimmery purple paper, punched with a Martha Stewart punch. The sentiment is from a small KaiserCraft set. The matting is black and I cut the scalloped edge with a Fiskars rotary cutter. This card is also for a color challenge in my stamping group to use dark purple and olive green.

CAS-ual Fridays and SCS Featured Stamper Challenges

I made this card for two challenges - the SplitCoastStampers Featured Stamper challenge from Sunday, and the CAS-ual Fridays challenge, which is to make a birthday card. The Featured Stamper is Heather T and the card of hers I cased is here.


I cut the mask with a Nestability. I sponged with Soft Suede around the edges and then with Sahara Sand. I stamped most of the images with Sahara Sand and then the darker one with Soft Suede. Both the flower image and the sentiment are from Gina K. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig for the placement of the sentiment.

Happy Easter - and a Wedding Card

First off, Happy Easter! I hope everyone has a wonderful day, surrounded by as much family and friends as possible.


I finally took a little bit of time and made a card for the SplitCoastStampers Featured Stamper. The Featured Stamper was Ali, and this is the card I chose to case. I kept the same color theme, the embossed background and the die-cut image panel. The image and sentiment are an Inkadinkado set. The image panel is mounted on Dimensionals.


I have been so busy trying to get caught up on day-to-day things that I have let slide. It feels good to be making so much progress. I haven't had time to do card-making, but I hope to get back to that very soon! I also hope to be back to "Christmas Sunday" next week. I didn't have a new Christmas card for today, anyway, but I just couldn't have posted a Christmas card on Easter.

Featured Stamper Card #2 - For Harriet

This is the second card I made for the SplitCoastStampers Featured Stamper for this week. The Featured Stamper is my great friend, Harriet. I chose to case this card.

I changed the colors, added a matting layer, and mounted the cutout heart layer on Dimensionals. The heart was cut with a Quickutz die. The paper is from Die Cuts With a View. The sentiment is from a dollar set from Michaels.

SCS Featured Stamper Challenge - Harriet!

My friend Harriet is the Featured Stamper at SplitCoastStampers this week. I'm so excited for her! I made two cards to help honor her. I'll share the other one on Thursday.


I chose this card of Harriet's to CASE. I used the same embossing folder and punch as Harriet, and added some daisies on the bottom, like Harriet. I changed the colors and added a sentiment and more matting. My daisies stamp is from Repeat Impressions and the sentiment is from Papertrey. I colored with Copics. I also scored a couple lines on the bottom of the daisies panel.

SplitCoastStampers Featured Stamper Challenge

I'm a week late, but I REALLY wanted to make a card for last week's Featured Stamper - Linda, otherwise known as morningsun47. She has such a great gallery and is awesome about leaving comments:) I chose to case this card.

My basket of apples is from Repeat Impressions. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored with Copics, and cut it out. It's mounted on Dimensionals. I used a Martha Stewart edge punch for my "tablecloth." Instead of twine, I used my Martha Stewart scoring board. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

SplitCoastStampers Featured Stamper Challenge

I made this card for SplitCoastStampers Featured Stamper for this week. The FS is bensarmom - Sue. The card I cased can be found here. The flower stamp is from Gina K and I watercolored it with ink pads and an Aquapainter. The sentiment is from Papertrey. The patterned paper is from Die Cuts With a View and the matting is Stampin' Up!'s Pumpkin Pie. The flower panel is mounted on Dimensionals.

Two Pink Flower Cards

 

I have two cards to share with you today - both using the same flower from Martha Stewart.  I HAVE to start using up some of my supplies!

This first one was done for the Featured Stamper on SplitCoastStampers.  This week's FS is "whoistracy."  I chose this card to case.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

This second one is just a simple card, and a layout I've used several times.  I embossed the circles with a small Cuttlebug folder and added the flowers.  The matting is the same as the first card - Pretty in Pink from Stampin' up!.  The sentiment is again from PTI's Birthday Basics.

For those who asked, I'll try to explain how I emboss with the small folders and don't get the lines from the edges of the folder.  I took some heavy cereal box cardboard and cut four layers and glued them together.  They are smaller than the folder.  It is about 3/16 of an inch thick.  I place it on top of the folder, making sure that it does not hang over the edge of the folder.  Then I run it through my BIGkick.  You'd have to experiment with your "sandwich," but I use Tab One and one clear plate.  That's what works for me.  I hope that helps!

SplitCoastStampers Featured Stamper Challenge

I made this card for SplitCoastStampers Featured Stamper #193.  You check out the FS gallery and choose a card to case.  The FS was Laurie (IMAMUTTNUT.) I chose to case this card.

The stamps I used are all Technique Tuesday. I stamped the flower with Rose Romance ink, cut it out, and mounted it on Dimensionals. I stamped the stem and the sentiment with PTI New Leaf ink.  The matting is Sweet Blush cardstock from PTI and the border is punched with a Fiskars border punch.  The ribbon is from Papertrey, also, and I added pearls to the flower. The background is a separate piece and is embossed with a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.

SCS Featured Stamper Challenge

This card is for the SplitCoastStampers Featured Stamper challenge #141. The featured stamper for this week is DancerRiley. My, what a gallery! Here is the card I chose to case.

You are to choose one of the Featured Stamper's cards and make a couple changes. The changes I made are: changed the color to light blue, eliminated one background layer and some layers on the sentiment.

The background is inked with a Snowflake wheel and Bashful Blue ink. I used a Swiss Dots folder to emboss the second layer of background. The ornaments are stamped with Versamark and embossed with Light Blue embossing powder. The sentiment is embossed with embossing powder, also. The circles are cut with Nestabilities. The ornaments and the sentiment are mounted on Pop Dots.

SCS Featured Stamper Challenge - Anniversary

Today’s card is a SplitCoastStampers’ challenge to “case” the Featured Stamper. Today’s Featured Stamper is Roxie Glaza. You can find the details of the challenge here. Roxie's card that I cased is this one.

The daisies at the top are stamped with a set by Stampin’ Up! called Simply Said. The white daisies are punched with a Marvy Uchida punch. The embossed trios of dots are a Sizzix embossing folder. The row of daisies at the bottom are a Cuttlebug border embossing folder. The border at the very bottom is done with a Martha Stewart border punch. The lines are embossed with my Scor-Pal. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink’s set called Mixed Messages. The daisy centers are pearls colored with an SU! Yoyo Yellow marker. The sentiment and mat are cut with Oval Nestabilities and mounted on Pop Dots. I THINK that’s all the details!

SCS Featured Stamper Birthday

I had some stamping time yesterday and have a couple more cards to post for tomorrow and Wednesday – hurrah!

My card for today was done for the Featured Stamper challenge on SplitCoastStampers. This week’s Featured Stamper is Julie Ebersole - also known as "JulieHRR." The card I chose to case is this one.

I don’t think there is much I need to say about it – it’s pretty easy to tell what I did! The stamps are from my Costco Inkadinkado stamps. I stamped the bird with Stampin’ Up!’s Vintage Violet. I used a square Nestability to emboss the frame for the bird, then kept it in place to sponge the Mellow Moss inside the frame edges. The ribbon is Mellow Moss and the sentiment is stamped with Vintage Violet. To place the ribbon, I cut a slit on each side of the framed image and threaded the ribbon through.
