Lighthouse - Times Five

I happened across this lighthouse stamp from Impressions Obsession recently and left it out on my desk to use it. I stamped it five times and made these five cards. I love the monochromatic-ness and simplicity. I finished each of them off differently with different sentiments.

I still don't have my Christmas letter written and we haven't done ANY decorating! At least the cards are all ready to go. :-)

Crazy Bird Birthday

The text background was leftover from a card class I took last September and was in my card parts - all matted up. It is from Brutus Monroe and is a rub-on. Time to use it up. The "crazy bird" image was stamped and die-cut and in my card parts, also, and I thought they went well together. The bird is popped up on foam squares, of course. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday.

Leftovers Thinking of You

The three flowers pieces were left over from my card class. At least I THINK all three of them were. The center was cut from kraft, so I added ink to it. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. The white panel had been embossed with a die. I ink-blended the edges of a white panel for the matting. The embossed background was from my card parts book.

Banana Leaf Birthday

A very simple card - maybe I should make a couple more of this one. I brayered ink on the debossing side of an Altenew folder before embossing. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday.

Washi Tape Birthday

I was inspired to use up a little Washi tape, hence this card. I only made one like this so far, but I think I'll make two or three more. Even the glitter strip is Washi tape, but the self-stickiness was gone so I had to glue it down. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday.

Noah's Ark Stickers

I had these stickers that needed to be used up. I believe they came from Darnell, who very generously sent a box of stamping supplies for our granddaughter, Ameila, a couple years ago. Amelia recently realized that she would not be using the stickers, and returned them to me. So here they are! For this first one, I used strips from a stack of patterned paper that I bought awhile back to make the background. These strips were the very tops of the pages.

The sentiment on this one and the next are from Technique Tuesday. I used a die to emboss the circle on the turtle one.

Thanks So Berry Much

When my friend, Leslie, posted a card using this die set, I knew that I just had to have it. That was at the end of June. I almost immediately made up a bunch of the die-cuts and colored them up. I used mixed media cardstock for them. And then they sat and sat. I finally used them up by making these five cards. (I should have looked at Leslie's card again to get a better arrangement of them! My cards in no way can compare to Leslie's beauties.) The die set is from Elizabeth Craft Designs. The sentiment is done with four separate stamps from Technique Tuesday.

Three More Very CAS Cards

Three more very clean and simple cards using the same ancient Stampendous set as a few days ago. They all also use scraps leftover from cleaning off my brayer. I did the coloring on them with Copic markers. The sentiment on this first one is from a Technique Tuesday set. The image is popped up on foam squares. The background for all of these is a very light blue/gray paper. This one and the next one are top-folding cards.

For this one, I used a stylus to score the lines on the background paper, then used a sanding block on them. I also added a tiny gem to the flower center.

To highlight this one, I used a marker to draw a border around the image panel and then color it with a very light Copic marker.

Card Part in Periwinkle

This periwinkle piece was in with my card parts and I decided I either had to use it right away or toss it. Here it is:) Just a small piece of textured cardstock with a punched border, but it worked. I cut a piece of off-white cardstock to fit it and I stamped with Technique Tuesday stamps. I mounted the panel on foam squares. The embossed background was also from my card parts. The card base and embossed panel are off-white.

Simple Birthday

The black piece was from my card parts. I cut a white piece to fit in the middle of it. I used stamps from Technique Tuesday. The sentiment is a sticker on white matted with black and mounted on foam squares. The background was embossed with a Sizzix folder and matted with black.

Fruity Cards

Two more card parts cards for you today. I found these bananas already stamped, die-cut and colored in with my parts. I mounted them on foam squares and added them to a previously-die-cut rectangle. I matted with black and added the sentiment. These are from a Recollections set.

Also in with my parts was this pear - stamped and glued together. (It consists of three pieces - the pear, the leaf and the stem.) They are from Technique Tuesday. I added the pear with foam squares to the stitched rectangle die-cut and matted with black. I added the sentiment, which is from the same Technique Tuesday set.

Congrats In School Colors

I really AM on a quest to use up card parts! I pull some out sometimes knowing that I want to use them soon, and then they sit and sit. I just finished up one of those piles on Thursday when I had a friend over to "play." Just to be clear - I have no delusions of EVER using them all up - I just want to at least make progress!!

The blue swirls on this card were cut out at our Group Gathering in June. The piece was actually larger, but this is all that would fit on a standard card. I believe it was part of a layering die set and there were problems with this layer, so of course I had to try my hand at getting it to cut nicely. :) At any rate, it's been sitting out since June and here it is. I did not know what to do with it. I was looking through my small stamp sets and found one from Technique Tuesday that had this little stamp. I decided to stamp it in yellow and make the card the school colors of our local grandsons. The older of the two was recently accepted into the gifted and talented program so I added a Congratulations and will send it to him.

Of course I couldn't send to one of them and not the other, so I used up another card part on this card! :) I had gone to Hobby Lobby in the past month or so and picked up a few things that were 75% off. One of them was the die that cut the stars for this background. I immediately put the die in my die storage and threw away the packaging and I don't remember who it is from. Sorry. I had cut it in silver. I matted it with yellow and then blue. Then I used the blue to cut out some stars to add to it. I used a Cuttlebug alphabet die set to cut the letters. Go Wyatt!

Punched Border Birthday

Super Simple today. Sorry I forgot to "Publish" this one, so it's a little late. I punched this "chain" border years ago and ran it through my Xyron machine. It had been sitting in a box ever since. Believe me - I'm trying hard to use up those kinds of things! Some end up in the trash, but most get used. I also have a large stack of half-sheet cardstock. This blue/periwinkle sheet happened to be at the top:) I added the punched border, scored some lines with my Scor-Pal above and below it and stamped the sentiment, from Technique Tuesday, with Versamark ink. I used clear embossing powder on the sentiment, as well.

Foiled Flowers

Finally - a card! Time is flying by, for sure. I actually made most of this card quite a while ago, but I finally finished it. I hope I remember how I did it. The flowers were cut with a die. I cut another piece with the same die, and then I used that piece as a stencil to apply Deco Foil Transfer Gel. I added foil to that and then I used Copic markers to color the foil. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday. I added double-scored lines above and below the flowers and also below the sentiment.

I have another card that is finished, but no more time for blogging right now. Someday I'll have more time:) I hope everyone is enjoying the flying-by summer.

Another "Fancy-Fold" Card

I made kits of this card to share in Ankeny, per a request I got from someone in the group. I have posted a card like this before, but thought I'd share this one, anyway. The folded pieces are one inch by two and a half inches. The corners are folded up at 45 degree angles and glued on to the card front. I scored some decorative lines with my Scor-Pal and added the sentiment, stamped in copper ink, which is from a Technique Tuesday set that I bought at the store's garage sale.

Letting Paper Speak for Itself

 Kris shared with us some gorgeous paper sheets. I just had to allow them to be seen. They are a bit shimmery, too. For this first card, I just added the die-cut "Mr & Mrs" that I sparkled up with a Wink of Stella glitter marker.

And for this second card, I simply added a sentiment, embossed in white, to the bottom stripe. The sentiment is from a Technique Tuesday set that I purchased at the store's garage sale.

Pocket Fun - #1 - #3

Well, I have now used (almost) all of the stamps from the Stampin' Up! set called "Pocket Fun." The stamp I didn't use says, "a little something just for you."

For this first card, I used the pocket stamp and the frog stamp from the set. I also used an SU! background stamp called "Just Jeans." I cut the pocket and the frog out, and I mounted the frog's belly on a foam square and added googlie eyes. The sentiment is from a Technique Tuesday set. I covered the entire card front with blue gingham paper.

I made the pocket on this one just the same as the first card. The flowers and leaves are from the set, as is the sentiment. I popped the flowers up on foam squares. The sentiment was cut with a stitched rectangle die. The background was embossed with a Darice Wire Fence embossing folder.

Again, the pocket is the same, but this time I stamped the sentiment on it. The girls stamp is also from the set. I used a stitched circle die to cut the top of the panel. I used the same blue gingham paper and added some orange rick-rack.

Tiny Flowers

Such a delicate little card - one of my favorites. I cut the opening out with a die. Then I had to find something tiny to add in the opening. I used stamps from a Technique Tuesday set for the flowers and the sentiment. I hand-drew the stems. The bow is a die cut that was in my parts. I popped the panel up on foam squares.
