SCS Limited Supplies Challenge – White Christmas

This card is for SplitCoastStampers Limited Supplies Challenge #249 - to make a white Christmas card. You can use only white with one color of ink. I did not have time to make a card, nor did I need another Christmas card, but there was no way I could resist making a card for this challenge - I love white!!

So here the card I came up with. I used three of my new Cuttlebug Christmas embossing border folders and a snowflake punch. The vertical piece is mounted on Pop Dots. The snowflakes have pearl centers. I used Stampin’ Up!’s Soft Sky ink to sponge lightly around the edges and for the sentiment, which is from a clear dollar set from JoAnn’s.

SCS Limited Supplies Challenges – and some news …

I made this card for SplitCoastStampers Limited Supplies Challenge #246.  The challenge was to make a thank you card with birds.

The bird stamps are by Inkadinkado – I picked them up last week from Michael’s with a 50% off coupon.  I just couldn’t resist.  :)  I paper pieced them and matted the image panel with paper from Die Cuts With a View Holiday Collection Winter Matstack. I colored the leaves and flowers with Stampin’ Up! markers.  The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up!’s Thank You Kindly set. The butterfly is done with a Martha Stewart punch and I added pearls for the body, of course:) The corners are punched with a Fiskars corner punch.

Oh yeah – I have a couple things to tell you.  I think I’ll spread them out over a couple days so you have to come back for the rest of it! LOL!!!  The first thing is – Jeanette from 2RedBananas asked me to continue on as a member of her design team!  How awesome is that!!!  I’m a permanent “banana.” :)  And, the other thing is a family thing …  I’ll be back with that one.

Six Cards!

Above and below are six cards that I have made recently. I just thought I would share them with you, with no specific details. I have made them for various challenges - Clean & Simple blog's Fall-to Layout, SplitCoastStampers Ways to Use It challenge, and SplitCoastStampers Limited Supplies challenge. They don't really require much explanation, but I would be very happy to answer any questions you may have - just drop me an email or leave me a comment.

Edited to add: Thanks for the comment, Sam! I guess maybe I should do a little explaining. :) The first card is a pre-embossed card from Die Cuts With a View. One of the challenges I made some of the cards for called for a pre-stamped notecard. The first, fourth and fifth cards are notecards I already had. The challenge for the second card is to use leaves. (These are from my friend, Vicki - thanks Vicki!) They are cut and embossed with a Cuttlebug die/folder. I sponged several colors of ink on them. The third card is a Fall-to Layout from the Clean & Simple Stamping blog. The theme for the last card is "Travel." The paper is some beautiful hand-made paper that my daughter and son-in-law brought me back from their trip to Korea and Japan a couple years ago.

SCS - Limited Supplies Challenge

This card is for SplitCoastStampers Limited Supplies Challenge #224 - to use blues, greens and grays, and piercing, brads and ribbons.

The main image is by Penny Black and is colored with watercolor pencils and an aqua pen. I added Stickles for the flower centers. I used a Nestability to cut and emboss it, and left it in place to color around the outside, leaving a frame. I matted it with Going Gray. The background is Night of Navy. I added ribbon, scored on both sides of it, and pierced around the top half of the card. The sentiment is embossed with white and the stamp is by Inkadinkado.

SCS Limited Supplies Challenge - Wedding

How about a swirly, black and white card for today? The Limited Supplies Challenge on SplitCoastStampers last Friday was to use only black and white. I was a little late in getting to play, but I was finally able to make my card.

All the stamps except the sentiment are from a set by Autumn Leaves that I purchased at Michael’s. I scored the lines with my Scor-Pal, stamped the swirls on the top and bottom, then used the Swiss Dots folder to emboss them. Then I stamped the flower and stamped the leafy swirls twice. I first stamped the sentiment (from an Inkadinkado wedding set) directly on the card, but I felt it needed more so I stamped it again and cut it out and mounted it on black and used Pop Dots to mount it on the card. I added the brads, mounted the whole thing on black and then on to the card front. .

Double Challenge Card - Green with Black Ink

Today’s card was made for two challenges. One challenge is SplitCoastStampers “Limited Supplies Challenge” – to use green and to limit your layers and embellishments, with a “bonus” for using green designer paper. The other challenge is from Sharon Johnson’s blog “No Time to Stamp” – to use only black ink.

My background paper is from Stampin’ Up! and the solid green is also from SU! - Always Artichoke. The stamps I used – the black on the main image and the birthday sentiment – are from Inkadinkado. The circles are all cut with Nestabilities. The flower is done with a punch. I sponged a little black around the sentiment circle and the flower. I matted the background paper on black, also. The ribbon is Old Olive from Stampin’ Up!

Limited Supplies Challenge - CAS

Yesterday’s Limited Supplies Challenge on SplitCoastStampers was to make a Clean and Simple card. Gosh, every card I make fits that challenge!

This is the card I uploaded for the challenge. I used my Stampin’ Up! Sweet Stems set again, since it was still out on my desk. I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and smoothed them out with Gamsol. I thought adding a little bit of red would be a nice touch. The Happy Birthday is from a Studio G set from Michaels – I trimmed around the box. The ribbon slider is a Cuttlebug die, and I trimmed off the top and bottom for better proportions for the card. The ribbon is from a dollar spool from JoAnn’s. I used my Scor-Pal to score the grid for the background and for a little added interest to the image, too.

Limited Supplies Challenge

This card is for this week's Limited Supplies Challenge on SplitCoastStampers - to use red and hearts. It also uses this week's Sketch Challenge.

The images are by Asela Hopkins. She gave them out last February. I colored them with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. The background paper is by Sizzix. The matting is Riding Hood Red. The white background is embossed with a Cuttlebug Hearts folder.

Polar Bear SCS Challenge

My card for today is for the Limited Supplies Challenge #187on SplitCoastStampers. Today’s challenge is to make a Christmas card with a “critter” and no embellishments other than ribbon. Oops, maybe I wasn’t allowed to use glitter!

My main image is two polar bears from the retired Stampin’ Up! set Polar Bears. The sentiment is from the same set, stamped in Pacific Point. I used Versafine Black Onyx to stamp the image on Whisper White, and I also stamped it on Kiwi Kiss and Pacific Point. I embossed with detail black embossing powder. I cut out the scarves from the Kiwi Kiss and Pacific Point and glued them on the bears. The circle is cut and embossed with Nestabilities and the scalloped circle is also Nestabilities. The “snow” is from JoAnn’s, and it’s just called “glitter” and “Crystal. It’s quite coarse and not too sparkly, so I added a tiny sprinkle of silver glitter to it. I embossed the bottom of the card with a Cuttlebug Snowflake folder and scored a couple lines above it with my trusty Scor-Pal. The image panel is popped up on dimensional squares.
