One Image - Two Different Cards

I used the same image stamp for these two cards. In fact, I only inked it up once. It's from a set by 2RedBananas (no longer in business.) I inked it with Stampin' Up!'s Soft Suede ink. Then I colored the leaves with an Always Artichoke marker and the flowers with a black marker. The first card shown here is the second stamping. I added the sentiment (from Papertrey Ink) in Soft Suede and matted with pink and mounted on Pop Dots. The Creamy Caramel piece was embossed with a Quickutz folder. I also added small gems to each flower.
This was the first stamping. I colored the flowers with a Melon Mambo marker. The sentiment is from a Stampin' Up! set. I stamped it with Soft Suede. I matted with Soft Suede and mounted on Pop Dots. The strip across the background is Soft Suede, also.

Baby Cards - One of Each!

Two baby cards today - one for a boy and one for a girl.
Not too much to say about them.  The stamps - the buggy and the sentiment - are from 2RedBananas.  I paper pieced the buggies, did a little coloring on them, and added the brads.  The sentiments are cut with a Spellbinders Tag die and sponged around the edges.  The patterned papers are from a local paper store and the matting is from Stampin' Up!

2RedBananas Banana Split Sunday Challenge - Valentine

This week's challenge on the 2RedBananas blog is to make a Valentine.  I got this sweet House Mouse image from 2RedBananas, but I'm not sure if it's still available there or not - sorry!  There are other House Mouse stamps available, though.

I stamped the image on Papertrey Ink's Stamper's Select white cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink.  I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol.  I added tiny pearls for the flower centers and matted it on Real Red cardstock.  The sentiment is from an Inkadinkado set.  I punched the little red hearts and "sprinkled" them on the card.  Then i glued them down wherever and in whatever orientation they landed.  That is so not me! :)  I like it, though.

2RedBananas Banana Split Sunday Challenge - Hearts

This card is for today's 2RedBananas' Banana Split Sunday challenge.  The challenge today is an inspiration challenge, and the inspiration is Hearts.  This time of year I guess that should mean valentines:)  However, I wanted to do something other than a valentine.  Won't you join us?  Please link your card to the 2RedBananas blog with Mr. Linky.

The set I used for this card is called "Wrapped In His Love."  I stamped the image with copper ink and embossed it with glittery copper embossing powder.  I had to take the picture at night, so I apologize for the quality of it.  I colored the ribbon with one of my three Copic markers:)  I cut and embossed the image with a rectangle Nestability and matted it on black.  The sentiment is stamped with Versafine black ink and embossed with black detail embossing powder.  I embossed the background, which is shimmery copper paper, with a Fiskars texture plate.  That layer is also matted with black.  The image layer is mounted on Pop Dots for a little more dimension.

Tropical Flowers Thank You

Another quick post for today.  I only have one more card made up, and then I'm going to have to do some stamping!  I've been spending time re-making cards to sell.  That's been kind of fun, too:)

This card uses the same stamp from Gina K's Tropical Flowers set and the same technique that I used a few days ago.  This time I used Always Artichoke, Rose Romance and Rose Red Stampin' Up! markers.  First I stamped the stamp in Rose Romance, then colored the stems with Always Artichoke, then "thumped" with the Rose Red.  I did this three times.  The Thank You sentiment is from 2RedBananas. The patterned paper is from Debbie Mumm's Baby Girl matstack.  All the panels are mounted on Always Artichoke.  I often try placing my panels at an angle, and then I end up putting them straight.  I went with angled for this card!  (EDITED TO ADD:  Here is a link to the "thumping" technique from SCS.  Gina K has also done a video tutorial on it on Stamp TV.)

House Mouse Anniversary

A "cutesy" card for you today:)  I haven't had time to stamp the last few days, so I had to look through my card stash and see what I hadn't shared yet.

I stamped the House Mouse stamp with Versafine Onyx Black ink and colored it with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Gamsol.  I cut the image out with a Deckled Rectangle Nestability (available at 2RedBananas) then trimmed the left edge.  It's matted with a textured green that came in a scrap pack from Target a while back.  The sentiment is from Gina K's Elegant Post set.  The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punching using SU! cardstock.

2RedBananas Banana Split Sunday

Imgp0306 - 2rbToday’s card is for this week’s 2RedBanana’s Banana Split Sunday challenge. The challenge is to stamp your background.

All three of the stamps I used for this card are from the “Wrapped In His Love” set from 2RedBananas.  The card base is Kraft from Papertrey Ink.  I stamped the background flowers with white ink.  I stamped the branch with flowers on a separate piece of Kraft.  I inked up the stamp with white, then used a Close to Cocoa marker to color the branches.  I pierced the border.  I matted the image panel on Pop Dots, then on textured white and Close to Cocoa.  We’d love to have you join our challenge!

2RedBananas Banana Split Sunday - Color Challenge

Today's card is for this week's 2RedBananas' Banana Split Sunday.  The challenge for this week is a color challenge - blue, white and silver.

The main image is a House Mouse image (Just Dandy) available from 2RedBananas. I stamped it on light blue cardstock with Versamark and embossed it with detail silver embossing powder.  I matted it with silver and dark blue.  The fence is punched with a Martha Stewart punch and scored with my Scor-Pal.  The sentiment is from Gina K's set Elegant Post and is also embossed with silver embossing powder.  Why not join us in this fun challenge!  Just link your card to the challenge post on the 2RedBananas blog. :)
EDITED TO ADD:  I had also done this card for the challenge. I could just as well post it here, too:)  Different orientation - same materials, except I used a textured light blue paper and the sentiment is from a Penny Black set.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

Banana Split Sunday - "Think Round"

2RedBananas' Banana Split Sunday Challenges have started up again for the new year! This week's challenge is to "Think Round" and use some curves.

The stamps I used for today's cards are both from the 2RedBananas set called Precious Bundles. Such a sweet set! I did a lot of paper piecing on it. The moon, the blanket and the jammies and hat are all pieced. I colored the face, hands and the stars. The patterned papers are all from a pad from Deja Views that I got at Archiver's. The main image and the matting are cut with Circle Nestabilities. The star buttons and the circle panel are mounted on Pop Dots. How about joining in on the fun and doing your own challenge card?

2RedBananas – A Tree

Imgp0028 - 2rbImgp0031 - 2rb

This week’s 2RedBananas challenge is “What Can You Do With a Tree?”  I first made the red and green card and thought I would improve upon it and made the white and gold card.  I think I like the red and green one better, though.  What do you think?

Both trees started out as a triangle cut into three pieces.  For the top card, I embossed each piece with a different Christmas Cuttlebug folder, then sponged it with gold ink.  For the second one, I just used some older Fiskars patterned paper.  Both have Close to Cocoa cardstock for the trunk and a reflective star on top.  The stars are from a pack of “confetti” I picked up from the dollar section at JoAnn’s.  (I got it for the white and blue snowflakes, but the stars came in handy for this card!) The base of the red card is Very Vanilla and the red is Real Red from Stampin’ Up!  The other card has a white base and has shimmery gold paper on it.  Both of the matting pieces are scored with double lines using my Scor-Pal.  The sentiment is from “Christmas Wishes” from 2RedBananas.  It is stamped with Versafine Onyx Black on the bottom card, and embossed with gold embossing powder on the top card.

We wish you a Merry Christmas

  Imgp0012

I don’t need ANY more Christmas cards, but I had to use this new image from 2RedBananas.  Isn’t it great?  It will be released soon.  The card base is 5.5 inches square.

The main image is “Caroling Jack” and the sentiment is part of a sentiment from “Christmas Wishes.” (The rest of it is “and a happy New Year.”  And it will be released soon, also.)  I paper pieced the wreath and bow with Old Olive and Real Red cardstocks. ThImgp0014e berries are red/gold Stickles. I also paper pieced his book with a gold shimmery paper. I added Crystal Stickles to the snowflakes. The snow on the fence and on the ground is an ultra-fine glitter. I colored Jack with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. I scored a double line between the sentiment and the image. The matting is Old Olive, and I scored a double line on the bottom of that, too. The card base is 5.5 x 5.5 inch and is a pre-embossed card from DCWV.

2RedBananas Banana Split Sunday – Stay Warm

When I saw the theme of this week’s Banana Split Sunday Challenge was to make a card reflecting “warmth” I was a bit stumped. Then when I saw the gingerbread people in the new Journaling Spot set, I knew what I wanted to do. What could be warmer than freshly-baked gingerbread cookies! I hope you will join in the challenge this week. The prize this week is a super-cute House Mouse stamp.

The gingerbread people are done on gingerbread-colored cardstock, cut out and mounted on Pop Dots. I used gel pens to color the icing on them, and a black glaze pen for their eyes and buttons. The embossed snowflakes borders are done with a Cuttlebug folder. There is a piece of Real Red cardstock partially matting the image panel. The striped paper is from an old Fiskars book. The sentiment is from a Stampin’ Up! set called All Year Cheer.

2RedBananas Banana Split Sunday – Christmas Card

Today's card is for this week's 2RedBananas Banana Split Sunday. The theme this week is to make a Winter or a Christmas card. Please join us for this challenge! One random participant will be the lucky winner of the Penny's Christmas Tree stamp set that I used on the card.

I stamped the image, then colored it with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. I used some Crystal Stickles on the star and Penny's hair. I paper pieced the tree skirt with some plaid paper. I cut the image and the matting (from the same plaid) using Oval Nestabilities. The background is from my friend, Suzie. (Thanks, Suzie!) The white strip is punched with a Martha Stewart border punch and scored with my Scor-Pal. The beautiful ribbon is from the 2RedBananas store. The sentiment is from Winter Wishes. It's mounted on Dimensionals.

2RedBananas Banana Split Sunday – Thank You card

Imgp9939 - 2rb

Imgp9947 - 2rb

These two cards are for this week’s 2RedBananasBanana Split Sunday Challenge. The challenge for this week is to make a thank you card or a page with a gratitude theme. Please join us for the challenge!

Both of my cards use the branch with flowers from the set “Wrapped in His Love.” I inked it up with Stampin’ Up!’s Soft Suede ink, then colored the leaves with an Always Artichoke marker. I colored the flowers on the first card with a Dusty Durango marker and I used a Crushed Curry marker on the second card. For the first card, I used the sentiment from the same set. I matted the image and the sentiment with Always Artichoke and used my Scor-Pal to score lines on both sides of the panel. The sentiment on the second card is from the October’s release set called “Winter Wishes.” The butterflies are punched with a Martha Stewart punch out of Crushed Curry cardstock and have pearls for their bodies. I drew antennas with a Dusty Durango marker.

The second card is also done using this week’s Clean & Simple blog’s Fall-to Layout #69. Another fun sketch!

2RedBananas Sketch Challenge

Imgp9883 - 2rb

I made this card for this week’s 2RedBananas Banana Split Sunday Challenge.  The challenge this week is a sketch.  A random number will be drawn and the lucky winner will get their choice of one of the new 2RedBananas sets which will be released on Monday, November 23.  Please join us, and have some fun!

I used two of my new Cuttlebug embossing folders from Oh My Crafts.  I also added some scoring with my Scor-Pal under the snowflakes.  The matting is all Stampin’ Up!’s retired Soft Sky cardstock.  The sentiment is from 2RedBananas October release in the set called “Winter Wishes.”

EDITED TO ADD:  Sorry – this post should have been published on Sunday and not Saturday.  The 2RedBananas challenge starts on Sunday, November 15.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you’ll come back and visit again soon!

2RedBananas Banana Split Sunday Challenge - A Recipe

I made this card for this week's Banana Split Sunday challenge on 2RedBananas. It's a recipe challenge this week - three eyelets, two ribbons or fiber and one or more ovals. We'd love to have you join us!

I embossed the background with a new Cuttlebug snowflake folder and added my three eyelets. I matted it on Ballet Blue. The sentiment is from 2RedBananas' new October/November Journaling Spot and is cut and matted with ovals cut with Petite Oval Nestabilities. I added a sheer white ribbon and blue gingham. I made the snowflake with a punch.

EDITED TO ADD: I have been asked by several people where I got the CB folder. It came from Oh My Crafts. Here is a link to the set I got. If you sign up for their mailing list, you will get a coupon code for 20% off a purchase of $20 or more.

SCS Sketch Challenge

This card is for SplitCoastStampers Sketch Challenge #253. The challenge states you can replace the triangle with another shape, so my shape is "acorn!"

The sentiment is from 2RedBananas' new October/November Journaling Spot. I masked it off and stamped the background with oak leaves from Stampin' Up!'s Lovely As a Tree in Versafine Vintage Sepia. The kraft panel is embossed with a Victoria Cuttlebug folder. The acorns (from the same 2RedBananas set) are paper pieced and mounted on Pop Dots.

"wanna play catch?"

I made this card last week, planned on posting it yesterday, but I forgot! So, here it is today.

The images on this card are from 2RedBananas' newest release. This set is called Jack and the Snowman. I colored him with Stampin’ Up! markers mostly – his skin is done with a Copic. I also put Stardust Stickles on the snowman and snowball and then rubbed it around with my finger, to give it just a little sparkle. The sentiment is mounted on Pop Dots. I matted Jack with Real Red cardstock and left extra on the right side to emboss with a Cuttlebug snowflake folder. I also used my Scor-Pal to make a dividing line between the image and the snowflakes. I rubbed some PTI Fresh Snow ink on the snowflakes. The red striped paper is from Die Cuts With a View.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you’ll come back and visit again soon!

2RedBananas Banana Split Sunday Challenge - A Color Challenge

Today's card is for 2RedBananas Banana Split Sunday challenge. The challenge for this week is a color challenge: use red, yellow, orange and brown - or choose just three of the colors. There is a prize this week, too - "fall colors goodie bag" chosen for you by 2RedBananas! I hope you have fun by joining in the challenge:)

For my card, I chose to use Autumn Leaves Penny from October's release. I colored her with Stampin' Up! markers (and a Copic for her skin.) The background paper is from a "Slab" from Michael's. The image and mat are cut with Nestabilities. The mat is Ruby Red from Stampin' Up! The trim piece near the bottom is Soft Suede cardstock and is punched with a Martha Stewart punch and scored with a Scor-Pal. The leaves are done with a Tonic punch.

Tomorrow I will post my November calendar page. :)

2RedBananas Fall Card

Well, I just couldn’t stay away very long! :) I got my January calendars done – only eleven more months to go. I have stamps picked out for some months, but not all of them.

Today’s card features “
Falling Leaves Jack” – one of the new sets this month from 2RedBananas. I colored Jack with a water color brush and Stampin’ Up! inks. Well, except for his skin – I used a Copic marker for that. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. The card base is from Die Cuts With a View. The image and sentiment are mounted on More Mustard cardstock from Stampin’ Up! The strip of patterned paper is from a “Slab” I got at Michael's several years ago. The leaves are punched from the same paper. The sentiment and two leaves at the bottom are also mounted on Pop Dots. For the two bottom leaves, I adhered the paper to cardstock before I punched them to give them some “sturdiness.” Have fun checking out the new stamps from 2RedBananas. They are great quality unmounted rubber stamps!

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you’ll come back and visit again soon!
