Butterfly Hello

Here is the deckled rectangle piece that's been sitting on my table for a while - finally used up. I have all the pieces used up now. I do still have several card fronts waiting to be finished, however! I added the butterfly and the sentiment to the top of the image panel. They are from an old rubber set from Hampton Art. I stamped the butterfly onto the image panel and also on a piece of scrap cardstock. I cut out the wings from the scrap piece and added them to the one on the image panel. That way, I could have the wings hang over the edge, but I didn't have to cut out the body or antennae. I colored with Copic markers and added Wink of Stella and a couple black gems. I embossed the bottom of the panel with a Darice folder, scored a couple lines with my Scor-Buddy and sponged some color over the panel. I matted with black and mounted on foam squares. The patterned paper on the bottom has silver pinstripes and I added a think strip of silver shimmery paper above the black.

Cheery Thinking of You

Using up another piece from my stamping table. I had die-cut a deckled rectangle from a piece of white cardstock, and still had both pieces sitting around. I used the negative space as a stencil to blend three colors of ink onto the image panel. (The die-cut piece will be on my blog tomorrow.) After doing the ink blending, I stamped the silhouette image and added the sentiment. They are from Gina K. I just matted with black and added to a white card base. Very simple, but it feels so nice to be making cads again. I'll spend time in my stamping room when I can. We have our granddaughter, Amelia, staying with us for a few days, so that's great fun and she likes to spend time in my stamping room with me. We are each working on a never-ending card. :-)

Birthday Three-Fer

I was using up patterned paper while making these cards. The papers came from a package of 4 x 4 inch paper I got from a friend. (Thanks, Vicki - it's getting close to being gone now!) I used green matting on some and black on some. The sentiments are die-cut from bluish-purplish mirror cardstock.

Sympathy in Dark Green

I had this large (white) oval on my stamping table for a while and I wanted to get rid of it. So, I added a couple colors of ink to it with blending brushes. Then I used dark green ink to stamp the Gina K image. The sentiment is stamped in black. I cut the scalloped oval with a dark green cardstock. I used ivory cardstock and an old Cuttlebug folder for the background. The card base is the same dark green as the scalloped oval.

Color Swap - Purple and White

I made this card for the color swap in my stamping group. The colors are purple and white. The die-cut panel was done with an Altenew die and I backed it with purple. I added the die-cut flowers. The sentiment is also from Altenew.

So Sorry - With Flowers

A very simple card for today. The image and the sentiment are from a Gina K set. I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and matted with black. That's it!

Celebrate!

I made the background for this card with a stencil that I bought from a set on Amazon. I used it twice for added "spokes." I cut the bottom at an angle and added a thin strip of glitter cardstock. I matted with purple and added an enamel dot in the center. The sentiment is from Obsession Impression.

A Baker's Dozen Christmas Cards!

A friend was over to play one day a couple weeks ago, and I went through a little bit of my enormous stack of 12 x 12 papers to give to some friends of hers. I could never in a million years use up what I have. One of the items I went through was a Christmas matstack. I gave away some and kept some. And some of what I retained, I made into cards. I have these to share today, but I still have some to finish up.  I won't get into each of the cards, as there's nothing complex about any of them. I used dies and mirror cardstock and glitter papers, among other things.

I am linking this post up to the Repeat Impressions challenge. This month's theme is "Christmas in July."

I used a Darice embossing folder for this one, brayering on the color before embossing. The sentiment and strips are silver mirror cardstock.
Another brayered embossing folder for this one.

Two-Fer - Birdies

I made these cards for Darnell's "Two-Fer" challenge - to use the same stamp, stencil, etc. on two different cards. You can use them very creatively, or very simply, as I have done, of course. :-) The theme this month is Birds. You can find the challenge here.

On this first card, the bird is stamped and die-cut (and layered for dimension) and colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. The background paper has some kind of holographic-ness to it, and my silvery stripes along the sides of the white panel are holographic, also. The sentiment is silver heat embossed. I added three Martha Stewart gems.
I changed the orientation on this card and made it a "hello" card. The paper is ancient cardstock from a free pack from Archivers. Remember Archivers?? :-) The bird was stamped directly on the panel once again colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and I added three orange gems and matted with orange.

Glitter Birthday

I don't even remember how I added the ink onto this card, but I'm pretty sure I used a brayer. I spritzed it with some water, but you can really only see it on the middle color. I added some patterned paper to the top and bottom, thin black strips to the edges of the colored panel, and a sentiment die-cut from glitter cardstock with a black shadow added. I also added a few sequins for fun. I have about a million of them! My mom used to do calendar kits where you sew on sequins and she had tons of them left over. I brought them all to my craft room after she died but haven't used them much at all.

Embossed Butterflies

I used a Darice embossing folder for this card. I brayered ink onto it before embossing, and then I stamped the sentiment and added it to a white card base.

Starry, Starry Birthday

For this card, I placed a die-cut piece on a piece of double-sided sticky paper. I added the glitter into the stars and pressed it down well. I matted it with black and added it to a white card base. The sentiment is also die-cut and is two layers thick.

Edited to add: Sorry - I don't know who makes the dies. The star one was purchased clearance at Hobby Lobby over a year ago. I was able to find another card I had made with it, but in that post I explained that I had already thrown the packaging away.

Never-Ending Card - A2 Size

Hello there! I'm finally back with a blog post. I have spent a small amount of time in my stamping room, but haven't been very productive. I do have this Never-Ending card to share with you, though. I have made a few never-ending cards that were six inches square, but I have never finished one off to actually give to someone. Then I saw a video on how to make one that is "standard' size, so I wanted to make it. I watched this video from Linda Bedinger.

Here are the photos of each "page" when it's opened that way.

July Calendar Page

Here is my calendar page for July. It was done using my Cameo Silhouette, as I usually do for July.

I have actually made a very few cards recently. I hope to be able to have time to upload them before too long. Nothing going on really - just very busy with life! Fun stuff - nothing bad at all!!
