Purple Birthday Roses

For my birthday, I received several unbranded stamp sets. This is one of them. I colored the roses with Prismacolor pencils and used Gamsol. I embossed the sentiment with black embossing powder. I added a few gems randomly and also some dots of Nuvo Drops.

Yellow and Black Butterfly

The last card (for now) I made using the Hero Arts stamp and die set. This time, I stamped the butterfly wings with black ink on yellow cardstock and die-cut it. I stamped the body directly on the butterfly, and again on the square of yellow. I added the sentiment, from Maya Road. I matted that panel with black. I also added a black layer, which I embossed with a Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder.

Amethyst and Gray Birthday

Another card using my Hero Arts butterflies set. I stamped the dotted butterfly with ancient Stampin' Up! ink and cut it out with the coordinating die. I also stamped and die-cut the body. The "swoosh" and the sentiment are from the Maya Road set I've been using. Quite simple, but pretty, I think.

Celebrate today and every day

You will be seeing three cards with butterflies - today and the next two days. I got up really early on Friday and was playing a little bit with this Hero Arts set. The butterfly - both the outline and the dotted area - and its body are from the same Hero Arts set. It was also cut out using a die from the set. The shadow stamp and the sentiment are from the Maya Road set I got at Tuesday Morning in Des Moines. I used kraft cardstock for this card.

Pink Birthday

We had one of our grandsons here a couple days this week. One day we went into my stamping room for just a little, tiny bit. He picked up my brayer and was playing with it and asking what it was. I showed him one thing it was good for was brayering color on an embossing folder. That was about as much interest as he had! :) But, of course, I then had to use the piece that I had just made, so that was the basis of this card. The folder I used was by Darice - "Chicken Wire,"  I believe - my favorite. I added two layers of Washi tape and matted it with black. The lady bug is from a new-to-me Hero Arts set. (I think I have used butterfly stamps from it on my blog already, and you will be seeing more of them in the next few days.) I stamped and cut it out using a die from the set. The sentiment panel is mounted on foam squares.

For the inside sentiment, I printed the words on my laser printer and used foil. I got lots of foil for Christmas, so I really need to use some of it up!!

Daisy Sympathy

I used a couple "card parts" for this sympathy card, which was sent to a fellow stamper who lost her sister-in-law recently. :( The border has been stamped and colored and ready to use for quite a long time. The sentiment was stamped when I borrowed a Stampin' Up! set from a friend last fall. I cut it with a die, matted it and popped it up. The flower was stamped and die-cut using a Hero Arts set. It, too, is mounted on foam squares. I added a bit of shimmer to the flower center using Wink of Stella.

Valentine for a Friend

I'm sending this valentine to a friend. The sentiment panel embossing and stamping were done with a Recollections set. I added the red to the embossed hearts again, and also added the red dots to the pink hearts. The panel is mounted on foam squares. I embossed the background layer with a Darice folder.

Sweet Valentine

And this valentine is for our granddaughter. The cherries are from the same set I used for the boys' valentines. I stamped them multiple times and colored them all. The sentiment panel was done with stamps and embossing folder from another valentine set from Recollections. I added a spot of color by coloring the hearts that were embossed. I also added some red, tiny dots to the pink hearts. The sentiment panel is mounted on foam squares.

You're Berry Sweet!

Oops - for got to publish this one earlier today:)

The first of my valentines for grandkids. This one goes to the two younger grandsons. I got new valentine stamps and embossing folders from Michael's this year. Spent a whopping $5. The stamps, die and embossing folder are all from Recollections. (Actually, the sentiment was cut out using a Memory Box die.) The strawberries and the sentiment are popped up on foam squares.

Metallic Pencil Butterfly

Another card using my metallic colored pencils on black cardstock which has been embossed with silver embossing powder. The body of the butterfly is separate from the wings. All of the stamps (four, in total) are from the same Hero Arts set. The butterfly and the butterfly's body were cut using dies from the same set. The top layer of the card is a linen-y paper with an edge that appears to be rather torn, purposely.

Quilled Birthday Wishes

Another quilled card. The sentiment is from a Maya Road set. Simple!

Die-Cut Christmas

Using up more "card parts" - this die-cut piece was done in June. I matted underneath almost the whole die-cut piece, omitting the matting under the outer rectangles. I stamped the greeting with matching ink, partially matted it, and then popped it up on foam squares.

Quilled Thinking of You

I wanted to let a friend know that I was thinking of her, so I made her this card. I hadn't done quilling for a long time, and my friend in Des Moines showed me some that she had done and gave me a few books with designs in. This is not from one of the books, though, but rather from a quilling calendar I got many years ago. Quilling is kind of fun, but it's rather time-consuming! Plus, I'm not sure how it looks after going through the mail! I'll be doing some more, though. The sentiment is from Maya Road.

Celebrate - With Metallic Pencils

A friend made a couple cards using metallic pencils, and I thought they were so pretty! I had to get some for myself:)

I stamped the images (from a new-to-me Hero Arts set, complete with dies which I didn't use) with Versamark, and embossed with silver embossing powder. I used the metallic colored pencils to color the daisy. I added a bit to the bee, too, but you can't see it much, even in "real life."  The sentiment is from my new Maya Road set. It is matted and popped up on foam squares. The card base for this one is ivory.

Thanks for Everything

Another item I bought at the Des Moines Tuesday Morning store was a stamp set by Maya Road. The green background and the sentiment are stamps from one of the sets that I bought. I used ivory cardstock for this card and matted the image panel with matching green cardstock. The flower is from a very old package of flowers I got at Michael's many years ago. I added a punched circle to the center, which I colored with a Copic marker and added Wink of Stella to.

Shaker Card Kit Cards

On our way home from Arizona, we stopped to visit some friends in Des Moines. She is also a card-maker now, and she told me about all the "stuff" that is available at her Tuesday Morning store. Of course we had to go check it out:) One of the items that I bought was a Shaker Card Kit. I thought it would require more assembly, but there wasn't much to it. There was the card base with the printed image, the card front with the image, the acetate and the foam already adhered to it, and then there were two packets of sprinkles. All I had to do was add the sprinkles and stick the front to the card base. Oh well, I have six more cards to add to my stash! :) Here are the cards that I "made."

February Calendar Page

Gosh, January sure whizzed by! I guess that happens when a person is gone almost all of the month:)

Here is my February calendar page. I used a die for the main element. I had to trim down the top and the bottom so that it would fit on the page. I matted it with thin red paper and added some sparkle with Wink of Stella. I love my sparkle, but forgot to use it a lot!
