Warm Birthday Wishes in Pink

I finally had a few hours to spend in my stamping room, and it was awesome! I am finding, though, that even as I'm working to use up my card parts, I am making more!! Drat! Oh well, it's all fun.

Today my card is made with one of Gina K's newer kits - but probably December or January, so not the latest. The flowers were done with stamps, stencils and dies. They are popped up on foam squares. The sentiment is also from Gina K and is popped up. The background was left over from one of my more recent sessions and was done with an Impressibility. I brushed ink very lightly over the debossed side and matted with black.

I have a few more cards to share, so I'll be back for the next several days.

Warm Birthday Wishes

This ivory panel that I had die-cut many years ago is no longer in my card parts. I stamped the sentiment on to it and then used an Impressibilities plate covered with light pink ink to deboss the design on to it. I added the slightly patterned paper to the bottom of the card front and stamped the rest of the sentiment on it.

Birthday in Pink

I had my Butterflies Impressibilities plate out for another card, but this was my practice piece and it turned out so I had to use it, of course. I already had this sentiment from my card parts out on my table and it matched perfectly. I was able to find the same textured cardstock for the matting that I had already used for the sentiment. Yippee. :-) The sentiment is popped up on foam squares. I took out several more card parts and used them, so you'll be seeing a lot of them in the next few days. I still have new things to use, but I seem to be stuck on card parts!

Hello Friend in Gray

Well, I went through several card parts that were not filed away, and made a few cards with them. I also put away the Christmas parts that I had and am hopefully done sharing Christmas cards with you for a while! All of my card parts are back to being organized in a book.

This stamped and embossed butterfly and the piece of vellum were in my pile. I'm pretty sure the butterfly is from Inkadinkado, but not positive. I added a tiny sentiment from Papertrey Ink. I embossed the vellum with an Impressabilities plate and added a piece of black behind it. The patterned paper background is from an old Recollections matstack. It does feel good to be making progress with my unused stamps and my card parts, and also more organizing of my tools and supplies.

More Christmas

Well, I have three more Christmas cards to share with you today! Not sure what's up with that. :) Actually, I love making Christmas cards, and this year I know that I can make extras and donate them to the thrift store that a friend works at!

So, after I made yesterday's card, I put the snowflake Impressability away. But, I decided that I would use it again, so I got it out and I made these cards. For this first one, I inked up the Impressability with soft silver ink, then embossed. I matted with shimmery silver cardstock. I added a strip of vellum towards the bottom. Then I added a die-cut sentiment, which I cut from silver glitter cardstock, and also three times from white, and layered them together.

For this second one, I used it like a stencil and used blue ink. I matted with blue. I stamped the sentiment, from Lawn Fawn, with black ink on vellum and embossed with black embossing powder.

This third card is a combination of the first two - same technique as the first card and same sentiment as the second one.

Silver Sparkle Christmas

Here we are - a couple weeks after Christmas - and I'm back to making Christmas cards! LOL! I never know what I'll end up making when I head into my stamping room, and this one just happened.

I happened across my Spellbinders Impressabilities Snowflake and had to use it. After embossing with it, I brushed soft ink over the panel. I matted with silver glitter cardstock. I used a die to cut the sentiment from the same glitter cardstock, and added two thin strips of it on each side of the sentiment.

Fall-To Layout 142 - Anniversary

I made this card using the Fall-To Layout #142 from Natasha's Clean and Simple Stamping blog.  I love her sketches.  You can find this one here.
   
I inked up my Spellbinders Butterflies Impressabilities plate with Ballet Blue and embossed. I trimmed it down to the size I wanted and added the white piece on the right. I taped them together, added Versamark on the edges and then some silver embossing powder. I matted with Ballet Blue after adding some silver ribbon. I embossed the sentiment (from Gina K) with silver also, matted, and mounted on Dimensionals. The silver butterfly was punched with a Martha Stewart punch, and is mounted on a piece of a Dimensional. I added a couple pearls for the body.

Rich Razzleberry Birthday

I rarely make a card with a cardbase of anything other than white, ivory or kraft, but today's card is an exception.

I started with a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  I misted it with a mixture of Perfect Pearls (in the pearl color) and water.  Of course, you can't see that at all in the picture.  Trust me - it's very shimmery in real life!  I embossed it with a Spellbinders Butterfly Impressability.  I sponged Rich Razzleberry ink (from Stampin' Up!) on the edges and matted it on a cardbase of Rich Razzleberry.  The sentiment frame is cut with a Sizzix die.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Birthday Basics set.  I got that set for Christmas, and I sure have used it a lot!  I LOVE all the different "Happy Birthday" fonts.  I added some gold brads to the hearts (the die cut includes the holes) and mounted the frame on Pop Dots.  Before I added the frame, though, I added a thin strip of cardstock.

EDITED TO ADD:   I've had a couple questions about how I emboss.  I don't have any "secrets," but this is what I do.  I have a BIGkick that I do my embossing on.  I use a piece of rubber from Home Depot called "plumber's gasket" for my embossing.  I also have the rubber mat from Sizzix, but I find the plumber's gasket embosses a bit deeper.  I sometimes mist my paper before using texture plates, to get deeper embossing.

Another Christmas Card???

I just got the Snowflakes Impressabilities from 2RedBananas and had to use it.  It turned into a Christmas card, so I now have another one done for next year.  I think I have about a third of them done.

I embossed with the Impressabilities and then used my brayer to go over it with Soft Silver ink.  I matted that piece with shimmery silver.  I took a white cardstock strip and embossed it with my Scor-Pal and added some Martha Stewart ribbon.  Then I matted that strip with shimmery silver, also.  That is all there is to it!

Pink Impressabilities Birthday

I broke down and bought an 'Impressability' by Spellbinders. This is the Butterflies one. The end result is much like a Cuttlebug folder, but they are a thin metal, so they require the rubber mat.

I embossed it with my BIGkick, then brayered it with Stampin' Up!s Pretty in Pink ink. I added some pink ribbon and stamped the sentiment (which is by Stampendous) with SU! Rose Romance ink. I punched the butterflies with Martha Stewart butterfly punches and added pearls to the bodies and also on both sides of the sentiment. The butterflies are mounted on Pop Dot pieces. Purely Clean and Simple! :)
