Embossed Christmas Trees

I have spent a fair amount of time in my stamping room lately, but I've mostly been making more "parts" rather than cards. I had been slowly using up my parts, but I have lots more now. Oops! I do have a couple cards to share, though. And hopefully I'll start turning some of my parts into cards.

The main image on this card was done with a stamp that I got for Christmas. I embossed it with green embossing powder. The sentiment is from Avery Elle, also embossed. I used a Sizzix embossing folder for the background. I matted with matching green cardstock.

Stenciled Butterflies

When I was looking for a Merry Christmas brass stencil, I came across this pretty butterflies stencil from Lasting Impressions. You can do them each separately, but I chose to use them all at one time. I used two colors of ink and brushes to add the color. The sentiment is a new-to-me stamp from scrapbook.com I stamped it on vellum and added thin strips of cardstock on the top and bottom of it.

More Stenciled Christmas Cards

Here are two cards using the same stencils done different ways. I made four of this first card. (29 done for the year now.) The sentiment was done with a Lasting Impressions brass stencil.

On this second one (which I only made one of) I used Deco Foil Transfer gel and gold foil for the second layers. I also used transfer gel and foil with the brass stencil.

Stenciled Borders - Christmas

Six more Christmas cards for this year - for me to use or to give away. These all use some of my new Christmas stencil borders. They are finished in various ways and include stamps from many companies. This first one also uses a Sizzix folder.
I added Stickles for the holly berries.

Stenciled Birthday

I got some stencils for Christmas, and I did a lot of pieces with them. I guess it's time to start sharing those. I used two (possibly three?) colors on this one. I added a thin strip of black cardstock at the bottom of the panel. The "happy" was the last of the die-cuts that I did with my glitter cardstock. The "Birthday" is part of a stamp from Stampabilities.

Tiny Butterfly Hello

I used up some more card parts on this card. I'm not sure how I can still have SO many to use!! I had die-cut this tag a short while ago as an example for my husband. Instead of tossing it, I decided to put it on a card. The little butterflies were left over after our granddaughter's stay here in October. She drew them, based on a stamp that I had. I had colored them, cut them with a tiny circle punch, and put foam squares on them. I also added Wink of Stella to them. The sentiment was one that I cut while on a die-cutting spree recently. It's made with glitter cardstock. The patterned paper on top is from an old Recollections matstack. I embossed the bottom part of the panel with a Darice embossing folder. I also lightly added soft pink to the tag, the butterfly circles and the bottom of the panel. I scored lines on the white panel and on the tag with my Scor-Pal.

And Even More Valentines!

Lots of glittery die-cut hearts. They are all mounted on foam squares. The backgrounds are all embossed with Darice folders. The sentiment on all of them is from Inkadinkado. I cut the sentiment into a banner and mounted it on foam squares, also.

More Valentines

Two more valentines, and more to come tomorrow. Not sure what I'll do with all of them. I won't be seeing my friend who works at the thrift store, so I can't donate them. They are too "pink and feminine" to give to my grandsons. Maybe they'll keep til next year when I can donate them. Or maybe I'll figure out someone to send them to. At any rate, I'll be sharing them here. The die-cuts (the main image and the bow) were die-cut when I did so many the week before last. The background panel on this card was done many, many years ago while cleaning off my brayer! The sentiment is from Inkadinkado.

Same thing - different background. The paper on this one is from a Recollections paper pad.

Glittery Gold Birthday

More die-cuts from my die-cutting spree! I just decided to add all of the flowers to one card. :) I embossed the black panel with a Sizzix embossing folder. I added thin strips of gold glitter cardstock to the top and bottom of the panel. The sentiment is several layers thick. The card base is ivory.

Happy Day!

These three flowers were among the many pieces that I die-cut last week. I added three sizes of purple gems to the centers. I drew the stems and leaves with a marker and colored the leaves with a Copic marker. The sentiment is from Papertrey. Pure simplicity, once again. :)

Sympathy Trees

Both of these cards with made with a Darice embossing folder and a stamp from Gina K. For this first one, I cut the embossed piece down and matted it with black. I embossed the trees with black powder and colored them with Stampin' Up! chalks.
For this second one, I trimmed the embossed piece down to just outside the embossed frame. It's not the exact size of an A2 card. I could have just cut down the card base, but instead I added thin purple, shimmery strips on each side. I colored these trees with Copic markers.

Imbedded Butterflies

The butterflies on this card were cut out of glitter cardstock in gold and pink. I glued them on to a piece of ivory cardstock and embossed with a Sizzix/Stampin' Up! folder. The sentiment is also die-cut out of the same gold glitter cardstock.
I matted with the gold glitter cardstock, also. The card base is ivory.

Very Simple Sympathy

I almost didn't share this card, but I thought, "What the heck!" I had taken this sentiment off of a card that I had made a while back. The card was a bit too bright for a sympathy card. I finally got it put on a more appropriate card. The bottom layer is simply a piece of patterned cardstock. I don't know who makes the die, as I cut this out a few years ago using a friend's die. The patterned paper is from The Paper Studio. The sentiment is cut with a shimmery cardstock.

Sparkly Purple "Hi"

For this card, I used a die from Memory Box to cut the cattails and frame out of purple glitter cardstock. I cut a piece of patterned purple paper to go under the die-cut. I used a different pattern for the bottom layer. Both papers are ancient papers from Stampin' Up! The "Hi" die is a new-to-me die from Altenew.

More Christmas

I had a few sheets of glitter cardstock and a bit of gold metallic cardstock that I wanted to use up. The glitter cardstock was the last of a very small matstack that I had purchased and the gold foil was some scraps and miscellaneous pieces. So, I got out my dies and did a bunch of die-cutting. I had quite a few pieces! I didn't want to just file them away, so my goal was to use them all. I actually used every one, except for a butterfly and the word "happy." I hope to use them soon, though. So, you will be seeing a lot of sparkle and shine. LOL!

I cut the snowflake border from the silver glitter paper. I made myself a mask and rubbed white pigment ink on the bottom of the blue cardstock. Then I used a white embossing powder with silver speckles in it (I think it's called Winter Wonderland) to emboss the bottom portion. I used the same embossing powder for the sentiment, which is from Papertrey. I added the snowflake border and matted with shimmery silver cardstock. I made five of these.

So far, I have 28 Christmas cards done. I plan to continue to make extras to give to a friend who donates them (and her time and cards!) to a thrift store. I made others with foil, too, but they are remakes of cards that have already been on my blog, so I'm not showing them again. :)

A "Just Because" Card

When I was looking through some of my stamps, I came across this set from There She Goes. I know that I used it once, many years ago, but only two of the stamps. I did like the stamps, but thought they were just too small to make a card using them. So, I used them all on one card! I stamped the words first, then added the images with a lighter ink. Then I stamped the words again and heat-embossed them. The inside sentiment is from the same set. It says, "When you recover or discover something that nourishes your soul and brings joy, care enough about yourself to make room for it in your life. - Jean Shinoda Bolen." I made seven of these and mailed them to my stamping group. They are so good about sending holiday cards, and I rarely do that - other than Christmas.

Stenciled Christmas Tree

I used new stencils for this card - the tree and the decorations for the tree. They are two separate layers. First I added some red Stickles for the ornaments, but later I added red Nuvo drops over the Stickles. The sentiment was in my card parts - it's part of a Darice embossing folder. I used red matting for the image panel and the sentiment.

Edited to add: The stencil I used can be found here. Mine was a gift, but I know that it came from Amazon.

Holly Christmas

I had four of these die-cut holly pieces in my parts book. So, I made four cards like this. Simplicity. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink. I added an enamel dot to the die-cut. I embossed the background with a Sizzix embossing folder.

Patterned Paper Ornaments

While looking for a die, I came across this one from QuicKutz/Lifestyle Crafts. It cuts both ornaments and toppers for each of them. I cut them each from patterned paper and also from white. I attached the layers together for stability. I cut the toppers out of gold foil cardstock. I popped them up on foam squares and added gold strings. All the patterned paper is from The Paper Studio. I thought about adding a sentiment, but I thought there was enough words already!

Black and Gold Thank You

I used the last die-cut piece from a friend on this card. I cut an oval and masked off everything around the center of the die cut. I used a Gina K stamp to stamp the sentiment with Versamark ink and then I embossed with gold embossing powder. I popped the lattice piece up on foam squares and foam tape. I used gold metallic cardstock for the bottom layer, matting it with black. The cardbase is ivory.

Two-Fer Card Challenge #34 - Flowers

I made these two cards for the Two-Fer Card Challenge #34 - Flowers. The challenge is to make two cards using the same stamp, for different occasions.
The stamps that I used for these two cards are all from Gina K. For this first one, I embossed with black embossing powder and watercolored the image. I matted with black and used patterned paper for the background. I also scattered several tiny gems around and about.
This second card is embossed with silver embossing powder. I matted with shimmery silver cardstock. My card base is ivory. I used chalks (imagine that!!) to barely, barely add some subtle color to the image.

Valentines

A friend was purging some of her supplies, and VERY generously sent me lots of stuff for my granddaughter - or for me, if I chose to keep some. And I think I just might! :) This heart wreath was in the treasure trove, as well as the love stamp and die. For this first card, I used a Darice embossing folder to emboss the white center panel. I cut the wreath out of glitter paper. I mounted the sentiment on foam squares. I also used Wink of Stella on the sentiment.
For this second one, I used my Scor-Pal to emboss the design - three scored lines across the top and bottom, and diagonal lines crossing each other in the middle section.

Sparkly Purple Birthday Wishes

Using up another die-cut that I received from a friend - this time the lattice frame. (And actually, I have this same die.) I mounted it on a piece of purple glitter paper. I cut a white oval the same shape as the center of the die-cut and embossed it with a Darice embossing folder. I die-cut the "birthday" (which is from My Favorite Things) from the same glitter cardstock and layered it with white die-cuts. The "WISHES" is from a Lawn Fawn sentiment. The bottom layer is an ancient piece of Stampin' Up! patterned paper.

More Christmas

Well, I have three more Christmas cards to share with you today! Not sure what's up with that. :) Actually, I love making Christmas cards, and this year I know that I can make extras and donate them to the thrift store that a friend works at!

So, after I made yesterday's card, I put the snowflake Impressability away. But, I decided that I would use it again, so I got it out and I made these cards. For this first one, I inked up the Impressability with soft silver ink, then embossed. I matted with shimmery silver cardstock. I added a strip of vellum towards the bottom. Then I added a die-cut sentiment, which I cut from silver glitter cardstock, and also three times from white, and layered them together.
For this second one, I used it like a stencil and used blue ink. I matted with blue. I stamped the sentiment, from Lawn Fawn, with black ink on vellum and embossed with black embossing powder.
This third card is a combination of the first two - same technique as the first card and same sentiment as the second one.

Silver Sparkle Christmas

Here we are - a couple weeks after Christmas - and I'm back to making Christmas cards! LOL! I never know what I'll end up making when I head into my stamping room, and this one just happened.

I happened across my Spellbinders Impressabilities Snowflake and had to use it. After embossing with it, I brushed soft ink over the panel. I matted with silver glitter cardstock. I used a die to cut the sentiment from the same glitter cardstock, and added two thin strips of it on each side of the sentiment.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

January Birthday

I'm back in my stamping room, and it feels great! It was awesome to take a break, though. I'm finally feeling caught up a bit after the holidays - so many things get put on hold.

At any rate, I have a card to share with you today. I started with the stenciled border. To the border, I added two scored lines on the top and the bottom. I embossed the blue background with a Sizzix snowflake embossing folder, then I lightly rubbed a white ink pad across it. I stamped the sentiment (from Papertrey Ink) with black ink on vellum, and then embossed with black embossing powder. I wrapped the edges of the vellum around the white before adding it to the blue.

Pink Thinking of You

A friend sent me a few die-cut pieces in my birthday card, so I wanted to try to use them soon. Here is the first one. Thanks, Annie!

She sent me the flowers, in white. I added them to a piece of dark pink cardstock. I used a white gel pen to add the border along the sides and bottom. I white heat-embossed the sentiment, which is from Stampabilities.

Also, I received three more birthday cards in the mail today - two of them were postmarked two weeks ago! I have added the two hand-made ones to my last blog post. I'm sorry the third one will go unphotographed. :(
