Happy Anniversary, Vicki and Gary!

I made this card back in April, but had to save it for today. Happy Anniversary, Vicki!

Our grandson Wyatt was over at that time and we made a birthday card for a friend whose party he was going to the next day. We used paint and a gel plate. His favorite colors are red and blue, so that's what we used. (I forgot to take a picture of the card he made.) This piece was left-over so of course I had to use it! I thought it would be good for a July 4 anniversary. I matted it with red and stamped a Gina K image with Versamark and used white embossing powder. The image looks kind of pink, though, with the colors coming through from behind. The sentiment is from Gina K, also.

Gel Press - Three Times

I asked for (and received!) a set of acrylic paints for Christmas. I wanted to use them with my gel press. I finally did, but I had kind of forgotten how to use them and I put quite a bit paint on the gel plate. Oh well - I still used the pieces. Can't toss them, you know! So here are the cards I made with them. I had used some ivory-colored, lightish paper. For this first one, I used glitter paper and dies to cut out the scene and the thanks. I also matted the panel with black.

All of my panels were cut with my Waffle Flower rectangle dies.
I used a die to cut the sentiment and then some off-white paper for the backing for it. I matted this one with black, also.

I used Altenew dies for this sentiment, and also some ferns. The die-cuts are all three layers thick and the top layer is glitter cardstock again. The card base on this one is white - the others were ivory.

Simple Anniversary

And one more anniversary. I guess we know several people with September and October anniversaries! This die-cut piece was in my card parts, as was the background piece. I'm pretty sure I used a gel plate to make the background. I simple combined the two pieces and added the sentiment, stamped in gray, from Papertrey Ink.

Let's Craft and Create - Purple and Green Challenge

I'm entering this card (and I guess the second card qualifies, also) into the "Let's Craft and Create" challenge. You can find it here. The challenge is to use purple and green.

I was going to try to convince a friend (who asked about a gel press) to get a gel press. I just can't do it. I'm not very successful at it! But I have a few pieces that I'm going to use, nonetheless. I used the gel press on both of these cards. First I had stamped and white heat-embossed the image, from Gina K. I used the gel press about three times, I believe. Then I added the dots - from Altenew. The "Hello" die is from Altenew, also. I matted with black and added a few green and purple gems.

Same technique on this card. I matted it with a black piece that I die-cut a few weeks ago. The sentiment is from Hampton Arts. I used a black Perler Pen for the "pearls."
