Belated Birthday

Well, life has been busy, but I'm finally continuing on with my tradition of posting pictures of the birthday cards that I receive. So, here they are! This first picture is of all of them.

And this second one is of the handmade cards that I got, from left to right, top to bottom, they are from: Lucy, Leslie, Darnell, Harriet, Vicki, Kris, Joyce, Annie and Sheri. Thanks to everyone for the birthday greetings.

How About Christmas Sunday ... and a Few Challenges

I had NOTHING going on today. Yippee! I got to make a card and I sure hope that I will get several more made. It feels wonderful to not have to go anywhere or do anything.

I found a few challenges that I wanted to do and I combined them into this one card. The stamps are both from an Echo Park set.  I used Kaleidoscope embossing powder for the sentiment. I matted each piece with matching cardstock. I mounted the sentiment on foam squares. The challenges I'm entering this card in are:

   CAS-ual Fridays - use three of something
   CAS on Sunday - use glitter (I guess I kind of cheated, because I used sparkly embossing powder, which you really can't see in the picture.)

CAS on Sunday Challenge Sketch

I saw a link to a new-to-me challenge called CAS on Sunday. Thanks, Leslie:) I loved the card she made for it and was inspired to give it a try.This week's challenge is a sketch.

I did something I VERY rarely do - I used a colored card base. (I really should do it more often as I have SO much colored cardstock.) The color I used is called Marigold Morning - a retired Stampin' Up! In Color.) The patterned paper is from a Recollections pad. I stamped the flower (from the SU! set called Secret Garden) with Versamark on the Marigold Morning and embossed with white embossing powder. I used the coordinating die to cut it out and I mounted it on a Dimensional. The sentiment (from a Papertrey set) is also embossed with white.
