Poinsettia Thanks

We received a gift that needed a thank you note. Here is what they will get.

I used a Gina K stencil set for the poinsettia. There are three kinds of shine/shimmer on the card. The veins were done with Versamark ink and shimmery, sparkly embossing powder. The matting layer is gold foil paper. The sentiment was done by gluing some very pretty, foil paper on cardstock and die-cutting it. It's popped up on foam squares.

Joy to the World

And the last of these trees. These two cards are quite similar. I used a shimmery spray on each of them. The first one has the oval cut out of it because I forgot that I was just going to use the mask and ink blend right on the card front. LOL!

Gate-Fold Cards (Mostly)

These cards are all very similar, but none are identical. I have a few more that are the same as some of these. These are mostly a type of gate-fold card. I will have another post for tomorrow, but I'm not sure when I'll get a chance after that to make more cards.

FaLaLa Trees

I cut out these trees about a year and a half ago, so they haven't been around all that long. LOL! I made this card with three of them and I have two left. I've actually started on another card with one of the two remaining ones. If I like it, I will just make the last two of them the same.

Cool Holidays

The images and sentiment on this card are from Gina K. I added three enamel dots and the penguins are popped up. It is very simply colored with Copic markers.

Here is the inside. This piece came from an Amazon gift card box that has been passed around our family for several years. I finally decided to take it out of commission and use the "guts" for a card. You can sort of see what it looks like from these two pictures.
I may be gone from my blog for awhile again. Lots of stuff going on with Christmas and birthdays. In case I don't get back here, Merry Christmas to all who celebrate!

Happy Birthday to our Daughter-in-Law

It was our daughter-in-law's birthday on the 9th. I was planning to give her the card that I made like this from my SCT class - Honey Bee Stamps. At nearly the last minute, I decided I didn't want to part with it!! So, I made her this one instead. It has turquoise accessories which is more like her kitchen. All the dies and stamps are from the class set. The doors open, which you can see on the second photo.

And on the inside it looks like this.

Happy Birthday, Owen!

Our middle grandson's birthday was yesterday. I can't believe he is fourteen already! He LOVES Legos (they sure don't look like this anymore!) so I made him this card. Hard to tell unless you zoom in on the photo, but four of the Legos are three-dimensional. The inside was special, too, but I didn't really want to share it here. The sentiment panel is stamped and popped up.

Glimmer Hot Foil Shine

Well, here is another card for next year. I wanted to play with my Glimmer Hot Foil system again. I don't really have the best luck with it. But here is the card that I made. I realized that I took the picture before I added a sentiment, but it still works. This card is 6 1/4 inches by 3 1/2 inches. I have twelve more card bases done for more Christmas cards for next year. They are mostly the same layout as the last two posts, so I may not even show them on here.

Flowery Birthday

Another card like yesterday's, but this time not a Christmas card. The paper and ephemera are from Gina K. The sentiment is stickers from ElizabethCraft. I added some Martha Stewart gems.

Using Up Some Paper

I thought I would use up some of my Gina K Christmas paper from several years ago. I made a few of these cards and finished up a package of paper. I have more to go! The sentiments are from Hero Arts and I die-cut the panel they are stamped on.

Multiple Simple Cards

I've had many of this sized pieces of patterned paper for about fifteen years or more, and I finally used up some more of them. I believe they are old samples of Stampin' Up! papers, but I'm not sure. I matted each of them with black and added a popped-up sentiment. The sentiments are from various companies. I made thirteen of them.

This last one uses ephemera from Gina K.

Wishing You Strength

The main panel on this card was a scrap from my SCT class. I thought it was kind of cool and wanted to use it for something. So I added the sentiment (from Recollections) and matted it with black. The background was embossed with a Sizzix folder.

Window Birthday

This is sort of a left-over piece from my SCT class. For one company, I was supposed to cut out a window similar to this one. I thought I would do it on my Cameo Silhouette, since I had no die to cut out this shape. However, my Silhouette would not work with my computer! So, I left it for quite a while. A week or two ago, a friend came over and fixed my problem. So, I now had four pieces like this. I glued them together for sturdiness. Then I thought a silhouette stamp would be good behind the window, so I ink blended and added the stamp from Gina K. I think the sentiment is from Gina K, too, but I'm not certain because it came from my card parts. The background was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.

Birthday

I have a lot of this ephemera from Gina K that I never use. I pulled it out a while back and finally used it for one card. I have much to go. The flowers are popped up on foam squares - the others are glued directly to the card base. The sentiment is from Paper Inspiration.

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. We went to our daughter and son-in-law's house near Chicago. We celebrated Thanksgiving, Christmas and four birthdays while we were there. Fun times. Our son and his family were there, also.

And my final calendar page from 2024. Where did the time go???

The tree is embossed with a small Sizzix folder and the paper is from The Paper Studio. That's it!

SCT Class - Hero Arts - Last One!!

And the cards from the SCT class from Hero Arts. The last one! I did it!! :-) This one involved ink blending, die-cutting and a bit of stenciling.

This may be my last post for a while. It's been fun doing the class cards, but we've had so many things on our to-do list. We've been chipping away at it, but keep adding more things as we go along. We've been doing the Christmas shopping, but have to finish that. And even though the cards have been done for a long time, we still have to do the letter and get the cards ready to mail. Deciding which cards each person will be getting is a job in itself!

In case I'm not back before then, Happy Thanksgiving to all.

SCT Class - Picket Fence

Here are the SCT Class cards from Picket Fence. The images (girl, background studio pieces and easel) were preprinted and die-cut. We were also provided with a stamp set (with the dies), a stencil and some special paste. We used the stencil for the backgrounds on all of the cards. For this first one, we put the ink on the stencil, misted the stencil and then placed the white panel on top of it.
This one had the yellow paste through the stencil and then yellow ink blended over that.

This one had ink blended on the panel, two coats of clear embossing powder over the entire surface and then some paste added over that.

SCT Class - My Favorite Things

Here are my cards from the My Favorite Things class from the SCT class.  This first one is a flat panel on the bottom layer and the smaller panel is the actual opening card.
This is a special fold card with a belly band. Lots of little die cuts.

And more little die cuts, plus some stenciling.
