Here is the birthday card I made for our son, whose birthday is today. I used a piece of copper for the main panel. I embossed it with a Darice embossing folder from a set called "Nature." After embossing, I used a lighter to heat the copper to discolor it. (I bought the copper and lighter at a stamping store in Branson several years ago. Haven't used them very often.) I matted with black. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! Kind of weird for me to use a colored card base:) This card is similar to a card that my friend, Bonnie, made when she was over "playing" with me recently.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

This is really, really lovely, Lynette - so stylish and sharp, and just right for a male card! The copper is amazing, and I love the contrast with the blue background. I am sure your son will love it.

The copper panel must look stunning in real life!
I really like this one and love that you used colored cardstock as well. The copper is very cool!
Gorgeous!
Using that folder for a masculine card is a great idea! I need to remember that!
Wow, so creative. Love it. Thanks for sharing.
Love the copper panel! A friend gave me some copper which she heated like this. I die cut some, but haven't tried embossing. Now, where did I put that stuff? The copper color looks very nice with the blue/green card base. Happy birthday to Eric!
Wow! Just WOW!
Just came across your card on Pinterest...absolutely stunning!
I LOVE this!
Question: did you do something 'special' to the edges of the copper so it's not sharp? I would love to try this.
Thanks for sharing your work.
