This card is for a color swap I’m in. This month the colors are red, white or cream, and blue. My intentions were to use cream. I started my card, and it just didn’t go anywhere. So, I completely changed directions and ended up with this one. (I was able to make a card with my other “beginning,” though.)
I used a brass stencil for this – embossing the entire design on Whisper White cardstock. Then I got out my very first Mat Stack from Die Cuts With a View. I embossed on the different colors, cut them out, and adhered them over the white. I matted the embossed image. The navy blue background is embossed with a Fiskars texture plate, and I added three red brads.
That’s really all there is to it. And I finished with time to spare!
Thanks for looking, and I hope you’ll come back and visit again soon

what an adorable card! I have that same template but never thought to piece it like that. I'll have to go and take a second look at my brass stencils and see what I've got in there. Thanks for the inspiration- but wish I had time to play today.
Lynette, that is adorable. It would make a great baby card as well. I love the pattern in your boat.
